Heres the deal i'm going to save some money and pick up a ledge for use in Yos. It has to be a double since my brother wont have one and we'll have to share. easy setup would be a plus, weight isnt such a big factor because it wont be used for alpine or anything, although less wieght is always nice. Thanks Geoff PS: I did a search and the info was last years so I'd like something more current. Edit: I"m to lazy and stupid to build my own.

BD Ledge is very quick to setup but wieghs a fair bit more thna some other brnads. I have used mine for the last three years and loved it. I used to use an old A5 ledge before that and it sucked big time. It took ages to setup.

Used my self built one and a BD double. If I need a double I will go with Fish. That damn BD was suppose to be the easiest set up and break down.....that brought a few laughs to us as we wrestled that bitch into submission.....i mean the bag. No kidding we were on Elcap base minutes from launch, checking everything and that ledge would not sit. So two hours later, we called the BD office they did help, but for the rest of the climb....compared to how easy my homemade "Krustyledge" was there is no comparison. So Yes my vote is for Fish.....solid company. Oh Yea, bill

This is useless info, but I have carbon fiber tubes for my ledge and it's light as can be. Maybe you can petition your favorite factory to upgrade.

hey if happen to be around camp 4 this weekend, there's a guy trying to sell one for $250 it looked like it was in good condition for the price. Its pinned to a tree on the left as you pass the camp4 notice board. You might even get it for less if its not already gone

Why is the Fish better then the BD? (Russ should be around here somewhere to ad his input.)

In reply to: Why is the Fish better then the BD? (Russ should be around here somewhere to ad his input.) Can't.... a blatant plug for the FISH Ledge, by me, would be frowned upon by various net Gods. So I can't tell you how it is way less expensive, more durable, larger, lighter, and I'm cooler than them and will put your money to better use.... gambling, booze, etc. I can't even tell you to check the FAQ on my site at http://www.fishproducts.com/catalog/portaledges.html adios, Russ

Dr. Piton highly recommends the Fish Double Whammy. After one hundred and ninety nights in the thing on El Cap, it is still going strong, even after being "flagged" on the haul line above my pigs for a similar number of days. Buy a double - it's not that much more expensive or more heavy, and it gives you the option of entertaining hotties..... Note: I have lived in my ledge for over half a year of my life, so you might consider offering me two votes.

Dude, you know my input. I wish I had bought a Fish or a Metolius. The Metolius has a more bomber fly and a tighter bed, but the Fish is certainly the better value. Wanna buy my BD Double? ;-) Epic Ed

I highly recommend Russ Walling for all your big wall needs. If you are dysfunctional and your girl needs some satisfying, he's your man.....satisfaction assured. Mick it's HOT, let's go swimming: here's where http://www.rockfax.com/miniguides/item.html?id=43

Hands down, the most bad ass ledge is the Metolius. It suits its name "the Bombshelter" very well. Everyone who puts the thing together agrees that it is the cats meow. Too expensive??? Guess what, I got a next to new one (double with awesome fly) for sale!!! It's a price that you can afford on the best nights sleep on the big stone. [broke, gotta get back to Japan] PM me for details. Rock On, John
