Impressive, but I wonder how long she'll last. When kids take up a sport so seriously when very young, and excell at it straight away, they burn out, or give up when they are no longer getting the improvements they used to. Is it right for an 8 year old to be taking a sport so seriously? Time will tell.

Oh, and wrong forum. You need to make sure you select the right one when posting. Can someone move it?

I've seen kiddys like this trust me they get worse with time if she doesnt give up and sticks at it (unlikely) then as her fingers and feet grow and she loses that extraordinary mobility that children have shell have to start from the bottom and build back up cos she wont be able to use those tiny holds which dinky fingers can i saw this happen to a kid when he started he was 6 now hes 8 he was amazing but he has now given up cos hes is no longer really good and in order to get good he must put lots of time and effort in and kids just cant be arsed... i blame television  enjoy it while it lasts, but then again she might just stick at it to that i say good luck young lady  maybe shell be the next catherine destivelle?! but in all honesty we are all hiding our contempt at the fact that she kicks ass

To all the naysayers: Chris Lindner started climbing when he was ~3, started leading when he was ~5. I haven't seen him give up or get worse. He's now maybe 19? and last weekend sent a pair of .14b's and came close to a .14c redpoint. All the people who say it won't last - when did you start climbing and how hard do you climb? I sure didn't start when I was a kid and I sure don't climb that hard! josh

As I recall this phenomena was discussed extensivley here in the past. The ClimbXMedia clip of her was pretty interesting. I still have a copy of it somewhere.

evry little kid that i have seen climbing really excells at it. especially outdoors (they kinda lack reach, but outdoors they can compensate by using small hold as intermediates). something to do with a lot of energy, good flexibility, no fear and small fingers.
