Craigo here from Brisbane, Australia.

Will be in Yosemite from 15 August to 1 September. I have a full lead rack with me. 13 cams, a couple of tri-cams, a full set of nuts and hexes. Oh, and I will have a 50m rope with me too.

I have heard alot about the climbing community in Yosemite. Friendly bunch they say. So if anyone is interested in showing me around, reply to this post or pm me.

BTW, I can trad lead up to 19 (5.10b), sport up to about 20 (5.10c), but I enjoy climbing mostly in the 16 - 18 bracket (5.8 - 5.10a).

Also, if you happen to be travelling from SanFran around the 15th Aug, I would be most obliged for a friendly lift.

Regards,

Craigo.

The board at the Camp 4 ranger's kiosk has notes for people looking for partners. Or you can leave your own note there. Tuolumne Meadows will be cooler than the Valley, which can be 40 degrees on a hot August day.

I may be there around those dates...if so I may be traveling in from the bay area...an will enjoy the company driving to the valley...I will email you when the time is closer an I am sure I will be able to make it...I will surely be in the valley after the 12th of Sept.

The valley does get hot...but I will be climbing trad during the cooler morning hours...an sipping beer...under the shade of a tree when it warms up...

Rock on

John

Depending on your climbing style, your full lead rack might even be a bit skinny....

For some routes, especially the all natural ones, with a set of nuts and 13 cams you may face some quite high pucker factor! Especially if you left one of your cams in the belay, and then need at least a couple more during the next pitch, and then the next belay... (ahhh I have some fond memories).

But then again, I guess if you are teaming up with others, you will have plenty to go around.

Enjoy it!

Fishy.

Kevlar, I know what you mean about climbing and hot weather. We get that alot in summer here in Brisbane. Very hot and humid. The thought of sipping beers sounds good, although I am keen to do some long routes, which would entail pushing through the heat.

I am pretty well impressed with the response to my post. From what I can tell, finding climbing partners shouldn't be too hard.

I will definitely leave a notice at camp 4 and maybe even check that meadows place out. Thanks watersprite. It looks like dagawebb and myself will hook up in SanFran and find our way to the valley from there. If your car can hold all that gear, kevlar, I'm sure we would greatly appreciate the lift.

Can't wait!!

Craigo
