My thought is that even though he has ZERO political experience, he has probably just guaranteed that Davis is gonna lose his job. I'm not sure how I feel about the whole recall process to begin with. Like it or not the guy won the election, the job is his till the next general election. Just being a bad politicion seems like spurious grounds for being removed from office.

I would not count him out as a winner, nor as an effective leader. He has no need for PAC money. He has a long history of getting things done. He knows how to set goals and achieve them. Should be interesting.

In reply to: He has a long history of getting things done. He knows how to set goals and achieve them. Well, he has a history of failing businesses too! I am a fan of Arnold. I think he is a good guy and seems to care more than your average polititian does. He already has money, so he won't sell out as quick. He also is moderate rebublican (pro choice, etc.) and that is good I think. I am for him, but who cares what I think, I don't live there! On a final note, it is gunna take WAY more than one man/woman to fix Cali.; and whoever does take that job, fix the damn traffic situation :!:

"This is the greatest thing to happen to comedy writers since Gerald Ford tripped on something. ... Nobody plays the game of self-promotion better in Hollywood than Arnold Schwarzenegger. He's always understood how to work the media." -- Leonard Maltin, movie critic "All I can say to Arnold, `Hasta la vista, baby, you're not going to be around on Election Day. ... This campaign is just beginning."' -- California Democratic Party Chairman Art Torres "If Jesse Ventura can be governor, so can Arnold." -- 18-year-old Adi Cosic of Irvine, who said he would vote for the first time in the recall election

Why not? He's a smart guy, just a bad actor. We can't hold that against him. After all, look at our president. Bad actor, good movies! It's got to be better than millions of not-so-bright Minnesotans electing a wrestler.

He's a great guy... a family man, major philanthropist, etc... but he has absolutely no political experience at all. I heard him say something about how he's going to spend more money on "books for the kids." I wonder if he knew that Davis majorly increased education spending during his time in office and that was one of his big-selling issues when he was initially elected. I don't think that a politician should be "recalled" for doing a bad job. If he did something illegal, then get him out of there, but he didn't. I think California would be in economic trouble no matter who the governor is. The power-deregulation crisis (which was, by the way, the brainchild of Pete Wilson and republican state-legislators) and the general economic downturn are not things Davis could have changed. Know what California's #1 industry is? No, not agriculture or computers... it's tourism. After September 11th, the airline and tourism industries were the hardest hit... do the math. I'm getting a bumper sticker made that says, "Forget the governor, recall the President!" Colin

In reply to: Well, he has a history of failing businesses too! Anyone with a history of success will also have a history of failure. You do make a lot of good points though. It will be interesting to watch this man move among the sharks.

I saw him interviewed today on CNN. He was vague. He is either very smart and being coy, or he has not yet mapped out a game plan for the barrage of issue-oriented questions he about to hear. Hope he's got it together because he's now in the water with the media sharks.
