For the last 3 years I've been a sport climbing fool. Lately though I've been doing some bouldering and really enjoying it. It's nice not having to depend on your so called "climbing friends" to belay for you. Anyways, I'm looking into buying a boulder pad, but truth be it, I don't know a thing about bouldering pads. Any betta would be greatly appreciated. Like brands, durability, lenght's, width's, thicknesses etc etc. :D Climb On :D

Sorta depends on what you're doing. If you're into highballs then get a thick one, etc. Personally I own the Metolius one, and I like it very much. The Misty Mountain Highlander is also a solid buy. Let the games begin. :D

Kinda like the shoe threads on this site, this topic has seen a lot of action and has been covered to death. So much so that there's an index in the Bouldering forum: http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=34259

Spanked Industries' Plush Pad. it sells for the same price as a cordless but it's way bigger and looks much cooler.

i have the franklin drop zone, Its awesome! I've token repeated 15ft falls without feeling any pain. I think its about 48 x 48" or so and about 6" inches thick, plus there is no "hinge" its a bit harder to fold but it distributes your force equally on the whol crash pad.

i have a misty mountain magnum, and i love it. its rather large, and doesnt bottom out like so many others do. only downside is its a tad heavy and unwieldy, and its a bit steep: $274 ish.

The folding system on the metolius is great but the actual padding on the franklin and cordless has long lasting durability. Basically, the cordless or the franklin are preferred. The cordless d-lux comes with a carpet like cover and the cordless all weather or franklin has a nylon cover. Once again, I prefer the d-lux. Check out reviews on-line and other experienced climbers opinions. My selections are recomended if you're not going higher than about 10ft-15ft.

Flashed crash pads are really solid. All their pads are great, but the four inch pads are killer. I love my new Master! really durable material and a super comfortable carry system. Check em out! www.flashed.com
