I realize that I will never climb these, and that even a short "big wall" is hard, but I can't find any straight information on the longest contiuous wall in the world. I think it's on of Mt Thor, Trango Towers, or the Troll Wall.
Does anyone definitively know the answer to this. Also, does anyone know of all the walls that are longer than, say, the Nose?

Mount Thor is in the Baffin Islands.

I have a question:
what is the exact definition of what is considered a "big wall" ?
For instance, is "Cerro Torre" in Patagonia considered a "big wall" ?
And, to consider another different case, what about "Nanga Parbat" Rupal face?

the Towers of Paine in Chile are also very tall at over 2000 meters, however how much of that is straight up climbing I don't know

mauta: I think that's part of why I'm asking the question.
I'm thinking uninterupted close to vertical cliff face. Not very exact, mayb it should be uniterupted rock wall from 75-115 degrees?
80+ degrees?
But I'm happy to hear what everyone else thinks of as a big wall.

Just as a side note: On one of Saturn or Jupiter's moons, there is an 8-10 km wall.
Lower gravity might make the climbing easier but you'd have to wear some kind of environment suit.

With the caveat "generally speaking,"
A big wall is usually considered to be mostly a rock climb.
Accordingly, some of the biggest are:
Trango Towers which includes Nameless Tower
Here's another beauty shot from the Trangos!
Sam Ford Fjord in Baffin Island is riddled with big walls, including several four-thousand-footers like Polar Sun Spire
Patagonia includes the Cerro Torre Massif and the Towers of Paine
Here's an even more awesome picture of the Towers of Paine
Possibly the best Himalyan ascent EVER made was the Polish Pillar on Gasherbrum IV which you partially see rising up and left directly to the left (lower) summit. Climbed alpine style in 1985 by Robert Schauer and Wajciech Kurtyka, this ascent remains as arguably the finest achievement in Himalayan climbing history. But it is not usually considered to be a "big wall"
Other Great Himalayan Faces include the South Face of Dhaulagiri which required M7 mixed climbing at 7700m and the West Face of Nuptse
Both of the above two faces were climbed by Dr. Piton's Most Promising Patient - ya teach a guy a few big wall tips so he can solo A5, then he goes home and breaks both legs falling through at the construction site of his own house! Sheesh.
On Nuptse, fellow quilter Janez Jeglic tragically perished, passing the needle over to Tomaz
Tomaz sent me some rad photos of his dry tooling at 7700m which I will have to post when I get a minute

Nice links Pete.
I think the Grand Voyage put up by John Middendorf and Xaver Bongard was one of the most impressive Big Wall acomplishments in climing history.
The route is on the Great Trango Tower and hasn't seen a second ascent. Most likely due to the "REAL" danger lurking on every pitch. Snow and Ice fall make this route a somewhat "suicidal objective".

Ok, it's a moon of Uranus (very cold, but think of the route names )
The moon is Miranda, and it's 480km diamter. So, you could probably free climb it without using your feet, but cool nonetheless..
