I realize the obvious answer is that they (and we) have the run of the whole site, but I still feel as though we're missing out on that opportunity to eaves-drop and learn the inner workings of their twisted little minds. We're overrun with body image threads and birth control/period conundrums. What do you think they're topics would run to? I'm obviously bored and my climbing gym membership has lapsed. ~Angela

I saw a vasectomy thread yesterday. It was pretty durn interesting too. Do the men feel the need for a special place to discuss their issues? I bet if any of them seriously lobbied for it, they'd have one.

Actually I asked the same question very early on in the life of the ladies room and was resoundingly shot down in flames so I have never been game to ask again. I think though that community is something akin to the mens room anyway. Lotsa pissing contests there from time to time. I can`t imagine what the mens locker room would devolve down to over time. I imagine that it would need a special key to enter and of course the seat would never have to be left down.

Every room is the 'Men's Room'. Every weekend is the 'Men's climbing weekend'. Climbing is too male dominated! Even the gear is caterd toward men. I can't find a pair of ice boots to even try on because the smallest size they carry around here would be a men's 7.5. bleah!!! :x

I'm not being anti-feminist just progressive. There are few double standards that work in our favor. This just happens to be one of them. I've got to admit to being slightly frightened of the Community forum. I'll never think of mashed potatos, Car Talk, or pork tenderloins the same way again. I just wondered if you guys felt the need to have a gender-specific haven as well. (Although I'm sure it would stay as segregated as a fraternity house during rush week. )

if there was a men's room, it would just get trashed with graffiti on the stalls and pee stains at the base of every toilet. and the ladies' room smells like flowers and has a sofa.

Question's not if the guys need a gender specific place; The issue is do the girls need to warned before they blunder into one of our messes? I mean, maybe the women need us to have a spot, but we don't see the problem.

Even the Ladies Room seems to be the Men's Room for the more sensitive among us. We set this world up for our enjoyment alone. If you females are able to gain a little satisfaction along the way, well, that's cool too I guess. You're just lucky you don't have to wear a veil when you post outside of the Ladies Room. DMT

In reply to: I just wondered if you guys felt the need to have a gender-specific haven as well. No. Everything we do is ultimately designed to attract the attention of the opposite sex. Why on earth would we want to segregate ourselves (unless we're old, impotent country club republicans and then, trust me on this calliope, YOU'D WANT US SEGREGATED TOO! (maybe you do anyway)? We talk about all the spiritual aspects to climbing when in reality we're just trying get a Shelia to have a look at us and to dream about doing the wild thing with our studly, muscle-ripped bodies. We want you to know we are powerful and virile and can handle far more than one of you at a time. Car racing, bull fighting, mountain climbing, sky diving, caving, X-TREEM anything... all pitiful man-boy cries for female attention. Just so you know... (we have to build outselves up repeatedly cause we get cut off at the knees so often when it comes right down to it (we haven't got a chance)). So, calliope... wanna go climbing? DMT

For the women that are somewhat discouraged and maybe even a little pissed, you ever hear the saying if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. Well I think it indeed applies here. If you want to make a change than go for about it. You could be the first woman to start a company that designs all womens climbing gear. You could be the one to convince some of the big companys to start developing a climbing line for women, or you can complain all the things that you don't have instead of working towards getting the things that you want.
