Hi Sung, sorry I didnt reply to your earlier post, things were a little up in the air untill last night. I'm going to climb Barns Fri morning so I cant do Sat or Sun. As for the North shore I think I'll have to pass on that one too, I'm saving up time for a long weekend in early Oct.

vbcss, This is the best place to find a climbing partner in MN, what is you transportation situation? I leave the airport about 6:am, if you are on the way or not too far out of the way I could pick you up but I dont go back up to the city after climb but that might be easy enough to take care of. I PM'ed you my phone # give me a call if you need help.

If anyone else is interested in Barns, Dann and I will be there about 7:30 Kurt and his gang will be there a little later.

Tim, FYI I dont think you can learn anything about photograghy from me, my camera does all the work  I just point and shoot.

Sorry, I wasn't able to make it on Friday for a couple of different reasons, but I think I will go to Barns on Saturday and just hope I can meet up with somebody while I am there. I don't have a phone where I am staying so If you feel like climbing I will be there Saturday morning. If you read this tonight and want to go PM me your phone number and I will try to call you before I leave St Paul (probably about 8:30 or 9:00, I'm not much of a morning person). If you just want to try to meet up look for the short semi blonde guy walking around kind of lost. Hope to meet somebody there.

Mark, sorry we didnt hook up, I was belaying when you call came in and we couldnt get to the phone in time, then it didnt show a number to return the call. Any way Kurt says he will be at Taylors falls on Sun. and your welcome to join him (I think David will be with him) he said he will be at the Minnesota strip about 10:30 am if you need info in getting there check the data base here and you could also goto REI or Galyans and ask the people in the climbing dept., you can also look at the Minnesota guide book while your there for info.

Send a PM to kurt (thats his screen name also) and let him know to look for you, he said he wont be able to check messages till Sat night.

Maybe next week we can try agin.

HEy, sorry (not really) to jump in on the convo, but i am going to be in Minneapolis for the week as well, and desperately want to get some climbing in. I am staying with a friend who lives somewhere near the Mall of America, i fly in tomorrow night and am staying till sundayish.

THe reason it is sundayish is because i am headed out to Colorado, but am not too sure on how i am getting there yet (have NFI actually) i would love to go through south dakota, and even over to Wyoming, but am not too fussed as long as the end result Boulder.

So if anyone can help me out with either that would be great (go on, be adventurous! road trips are always fun....much better than bus trips :( !). I am halfway through a world trip, trying to climb as much as possible and only have my personal gear with me.

cheers, sally.

Just to put out the vibe, I'm living in Duluth now and anyone who lives up here or wants to come up here is more than welcome to get in touch with me for some climbing. My cell # is 218-310-6764, give me a ring.

Looks like Les and I and maybe some visitors will be at Barn Bluff Friday morning. If anyone else is interested, just come on out. We'll be there by about 7:30...

And hey old-school, have you actually done any climbing up there yet? If not, you should really get some in before it gets too cold. Great stuff up there!

If you guys don't get out tomorrow, and plan on going Saturday instead, let me know. Otherwise, I am going to try sneak away from work and hook up with you guys next Friday (assuming you go).

Have fun tomorrow!

If anyone is heading up north this weekend, I will be camping out at Northern Exposure campground in Silver Bay Saturday night and climbing on Sat and Sun at Palisade. Either find me climbing or at the campsite.

Has anyone camped near Taylors Falls other then the state campgrounds? The MN side is all booked up and the WI side has plenty of openings but I don't want to have to pay an extra $20 for a pass over there if I don't have to. I did a quick search and found two listings for private campgrounds, Camp Waub-O-Geeg and Wildwood campground. I plan on camping out with 2 other people this weekend, would anyone else be interested in a gathering this weekend?

I'm pretty sure they quit doing that this year or last. I asked about it and they used to honor like Monday thru Thursday only.

The honor thing is a no go. Walk over the bridge, to get there for climbing.
I've never heard of Camp Bubble-de-bub, or whatever it is. Wildwood is fairly close, on hwy8. It's got a pretty good name around the community.
Also try searching for campgrounds in St. Croix Falls, Wisc. Just north of TF the St. Croix is a Nation Riverway, with some campgrounds on the river.
I'd offer to let you use my backyard, but I don't know how happy mis padres would be.

One last thought. It's a few minute drive, but try Wild River State Park. It's not too far away (10 minutes ish), and it's less likely to be full.
