I would live somewhere tropical where I could wake in the morning and see the ocean out my front yard and a beatiful crag out my backyard. My house would have open windows everywhere for the tropical breeze and a massive skylight to see the stars at night. If only I could win the lottery ~sigh~

You and I think alike!! That would be my first choice! Second would be living in New Zealand, with a waterfront property, hearing the roar of the waves at I wake up in the morning in a wooden cabin. It'd be at least 2 floors high, and, instead of stairs going up to the second floor, there'd be a little veritcal wall that you'd have to climb. If you had to get big or heavy stuff up or down a level, there's this pulley and a basket that you put it in, just like a well. There'd be a super wicked multi-pitch crag located 15 minutes of walking from the house, (so you can at least have some backyard!!) So I'd be able to surf as well as climb. Trust me. I've got it alllllll figured out.

Boulder, CO. Lots of great climbing to be had with Boulder Canyon, Eldorado Canyon, Clear Creek Canyon, Lumpe Ridge and South Platte. Lots of skiing in the winter, 56 peaks above 14,000' and a lot of people who are into it all.... JD

Here in Rovanna, at least half of our 80 residents are climbers. We have bouldering within 5 minutes. Within 15 minutes we have the Buttermilks, the Happys, and lots of boulders no one has heard of. Owen's River Gorge is 5 minutes away. We put up immaculate 3 pitch trad FAs within a mile of here. There are mile long 5th class ridges that i can get on within 20 minutes of this computer. Our bouldering season is year round, and the Sierra Crest is right out the back door. There are at least 5 types of stone to climb on within 30 minutes of here. Yosemite is an hour away, most of the folks here are Valley retirees. The catch? Rovanna is slated to be torn down for a rich development that will increase the population, interfere with mule deer migration, and displace all of the dirt bag poor climbers that live here already, and probably won't be able to afford to stay. :(

St. George UTAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God there is so much climbing there and in the surrounding areas and just a stone's throw from ZION> I love it there, the only sucky thing is no bars (there is one bar, but beer is only 3.2% alcohol) Climbing just did a spread on the area, but it didn't even touch on the vastness of the climbing

NAW...I like Fernie because it's in the Canadian Rockies, with Canmore, Baniff being just a days drive away. Best of both worlds closer than I am now but in a much smaller town without all of the people. Just me..an easy place to disappear

New Zealand would be perfect for me if it didn't rain so much and it was warmer... for me, i want somewhere with a beach on my front step, a mountain starting behind me and cliffs on the sides. 8) if only such a place existed... :? actually now that i think about it australia would be awesome too, if i had a license :x
