OOH OOH OOH! Here: http://www.boulderline.com/Video%20Pages/Bachar%20Cracker.htm If this were in black & white... And the piece captures the mood, although again I'll criticize the music a bit, closer to funk than jazz... but it works.

OOh, OOh, here's another idea. I know I'm going a bit far afield of the original post but the idea hamster is eating my brain again. Picture: Steph Davis red pointing a butt hard 13+ finger crack to the tones of PH Harvey's "Dress". As for Jazz snobery....I'm NOT going to apologize. Arthur Fiedler once said: "There are two types of music in this world; good music and bad music". I'm a music snob. I'm also a wine snob, art snob, food snob, film snob, book snob.......just generally a culture snob. This galls my Indiana populist spouse to no end, but I caught her lingering over a glass of good cabernet Sunday night..... Life is WAY too short to allow commercial, lowest common denominator, corporate kaka to slop onto your plate. Hold out for the good stuff! Everybody here who's SICK of J-Lo and Ben, alternative boy bands (Linkin Park), new and improved toilet paper, reality TV..... raise your hand.

Stevie Ray Vaughan's version of "Voodoo Chile". I'm not sure what band it is but they did an awesome acoustic version of Paul Simons "Me & Julio". Might be nice for a bouldering collage.

Everybody here who's SICK of J-Lo and Ben, alternative boy bands (Linkin Park) raise your hand. *raises hand* OK! I'm so excited! I started filming for the video today! A friend videotaped me climbing on my school this afternoon... the footage was pretty awesome! Ok.... settled down now.... thinksinpictures- I understand about the whole 'snob' (though I wouldn't call it that, having more than one viewpoint is a good thing) thing, and I would be very interested in a CD or mp3s of your ideal songs. PMing you shortly.....

So I've been chatting with b_fost about making him a CD, and I did it tonight. I fished through my extensive collection of jazz MP3s and albums, tracking down stuff from all kinds of genre's that might work with climbing vids, depending on how they're done (what types of problems, angles, visual effects, etc). Thought there might be people interested in my track listing, so here it goes: 1. Benny Goodman Orchestra - Sing Sing Sing 2. Charles Mingus - Moanin' 3. Mingus Big Band - Moanin' (live) -longer, but maybe better? 4. John Coltrane - Locomotion 5. The Oscar Peterson Trio feat. Clark Terry - Brotherhood of Man 6. The Dave Brubeck Quartet - Take Five 7. Kenny Burrell - Midnight Blue 8. Jimmy McGriff - The Worm 9. Charlie Hunter - Dance of the Jazz Fascists 10. DJ Logic and John Scofield - Cars Trucks Buses 11. The Buena Vista Social Club - Candela 12. Dick Dale - Caravan It progresses from older jazz to newer, and also from more conventional to less conventional. The last song is a surf cover of a famous jazz standard.

Moby: "God Moving Over the Face of the Water" (Heat Soundtrack) - Great song that would be great for a fast beat climbing video. Spiritualized: "Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating in Space" Sigur Ros: "The Nothing Song" () - Would be really cool on a super chill bouldering video. Guess I've seen a little too much Vanilla Sky, but admit it, both songs are beautiful songs that would compliment a climbing video very well. And Sexual Healing... because it's the most amazing song ever written.

okay, so i didn't know one song in that CD that is being made, but that's cool... I like to drive to the crag with some OAR, listen to Authority Zero or Rage or Dropkick Murphys while climbing and wind down with more OAR or some Buffett....
