Wow, all us MNans must be on vacations and what-not lately...

No one posting up? Is there anyone climbing somewhere other than at Blue Mounds this weekend???

Taylors maybe? North Shore somewhere? OOOOh, maybe St. Cloud highway boulders?

Anyway, some of us may or may not be going down to pay homage to the Souix Quartzite in Luvurne this weekend. If you go, be sure to bring the proper head-dress and pipestone tools!

Catch ya on the sunny side!

If any of you are interested, rocksolid, a couple buddies of mine and I are heading out to Devils' Lake for the weekend of Oct 17-19. We will probably leave the morning of the 17th (friday).

Will it be too cold or snowy to climb at Taylor Falls between Oct 28th - Nov 1st? I will be in the area during those dates and would love to check it out. How is the bouldering there? I won't be able to bring a rope or crashpad.

Anyone feel like giving me a tour/climbing with me? PM if interested.

What is too cold? I'm sure there will be daytime temps in the mid 30's to mid 40's. If the sky is clear there's always rock to be found in the sun. And I really don't think there's gonna be much snow (if any) by then. But this is Minnesota.

OK, I'll post. Its cold here too. The last two days haven't even topped 100 degrees, so winter's coming all right. Gotta go find my sweaters. Haha.

Just wondering if anyone is thinking about North Shore for this weekend (the 10th thru 13th). I'd be up for a trip any or all of those days (so far) if it's not raining.

The weather could not have been more perfect at Blue Mounds. The only problem were the beetles

Hey fellow MN climbers!
The weather's gonna be great this week; get out and climb!!
I was at Taylor's yesterday, climbing "Inside Corner" on the WI strip, and the weather was great for climbing, but with one major problem (dilemma? issue?)---LADYBUGS!! There were hundreds of um! You couldn't move without killing um! A few even bit me! Anyone else experienced this?

Apparently they are not ladybugs but some sort of invasive beatle. Yup, they bite... didn't have any aphids on yer arms by any chance?!?!

Second on the Les' "little black" no-see-ums comment - seems their bites have about a 24-36 hour delay before the itch starts...and when it starts, it's serious!! I feel like a flea-bitten hound....climbing was awesome, though, and wearing shorts in October is always sweet. Thanks again to everyone for the hospitality & assistance!!
