Hello Friends. I recently had a pretty bad accident climbing and Now have some pretty large medical bills. I am asking my fellow rock climbers for some help now. I have all of the equipment listed below that I am going to need to sell in order to help cover part of my medical bills. All of the equipment has only been used about 6 times as I had just bought it right before the accident. All I am asking is for you to take a look at the pictures and if there is something there that you would like, just name your price. Please make your price fair though. I am hoping to raise at least $900 for all of this stuff.

man, i'm sorry to hear about that. I always hate hearing about accidents on this forum because it could to happen to anyone (even me!!?) I hope you get better soon and that you raise the money you need to, and that you will someday get back into climbing, because it is a truly kickass sport. Meanwhile, how much would it cost for one of the medium BD Bod harnesses, an ATC, and that chalkbag? Also, if you have any parabiners to sell, i could possibly use one of those. PM me with your price, and if its less than the full BD set at newman's i'll buy it.

also, could you tell us the details of the accident? I always try to read accident reports to make sure I dont make the same mistake someone else made, and it also might be pertinent if it involved any of the gear... for example if you took a huge whipper on some gear that caused the accident, it might be good to know.

Must've been a real bad accident to take out both you and your friend who wears a shoe 2 sizes different from you.

yea, i thought something seemed a little bit suspicious, but didnt want to say anything because he might just have the extra pair lyin around to sell, and he did have some previous posts... and i'd feel like a dick if he really was in an accident... that's partially why i'm waiting to hear the whole accident report thing... too many people get their stuff stolen these days... sad... real sad...

it also turns out if you look in the base directory of the images (www.spadeals.net/ebay/) that he is also selling a coin collection and comic book collection. Couldnt find any other info on them tho.

Sorry to hear about your accident. That really does suck, have you stopped climbing all together cause it looks like a lot of gear getting sold. I am interested though, how much for the quickdraws and the 60m rope?

Couldnt find any other info on them tho. While having his accident that took out two people, apparently there was an incident that also involved receiving the wrong change and a paint set, hence the coins and comic books. Maybe I'm just a prick, but something sounds amiss....

He is selling the change that fell out of his friend's pocket and the comic books because he just cant bring himself to read them anymore... and of course both of their climbing equipment. edit: misspelling

If you guys do not like the deal then dont buy. It just so happens that eBay is my only source of income and yes I did try to sell the equipment on ebay before I put it in this forum. As for the shoes, they are my wifes and seeing as she is pregnant with my first child, I do not think that she will be doing much climbing anymore. As for my accident, I was out climbing at Stoney Point, in Souther Cali. As some o you may know most all of stoney point is sandstone. To keep a long story short, we were bouldering and I pulled about a 4' x 3' piece out of the wall and fell. Thanks, jeff

In reply to: i'd feel like a dick if he really was in an accident... Bertman said it right, give the guy a break. I'm willing to admit that he could be trying to hose people, but the stuff you guys are ribbing him for is below the belt, especially if he's telling the truth. His wife wears size 9 men's shoes? Yeah, that's on the large side, but I've climbed with a girl that wears size 10.5 men's. He lives in Vegas and climbed at Stoney Point? I live in BOSTON and I've climbed at Stoney Point. And he knows a thing or two about the rock there, I might add. His only income is from Ebay? My mom's coworker quit his job of like 20 years as a nurse to do just that. I mean, yeah, he could totally be lying and trying to shaft us all, but it's not like you KNOW he is enough to accuse him of it so vehemently. . I respect that people are concerned about buying stolen gear, but seriously, you guys are really ripping into someone who could just as reasonably be legit. If you don't like him, don't buy from him.

In reply to: Well then we should climb together sometime because we could share shoes. Haha. I do have big feet for a girl, and they're all deformed with big callouses on my toe-knuckles. Really quite a lovely sight. I'll be home (Scottsdale) in December, so I might have to take you up on climbing
