He's scratching his brain because he can't understand how they managed to get a bolt right there.

It's hard to tell, but I'm wondering if that's a #2 Camalot on his harness. If so, then what's wrong is that he's clipping a bolt instead of plugging the cam into to crack. Otherwise, what's wrong is that I'm not there. Looks much more appealing than my office right now.

He's brushing "dirt" out of the wrong crack? Waited until the first bolt to pull out the wedgie? using stinky finger instead of chalk? Trying to smother a loud fart? I dunno...

okay so what we know is that:

*a sport climber on what looks like could be a trad route

*wearing a helmet

*likes to play with own ass

*not backcliped or z cliped

all i could see is that the route might be a little too runout.... but hell that is up to the climber on the route other than that i do not see anything else that could be wrong with this photo please tell us please!!!

I know!! I know!!! he doesn't have a belayer!!!! (at least on the picture), so if he was soloing then why should he bother with the rope... right?

I just sold a digital imaging co. and have been doing it for years, This is 2 pictures put together, one on the right is differnt enuff from the one on the left. now look again and you will see it. color and rock is diff. Plus the scale of the climber compared to the sene is way off. both the r & L photos are in focus and it just looks unnatural.

As much as I hate trolls, wouldn't this be the best one ever? Noone can seem to find anything actually wrong with the picture other then the bolt placed next to a protectable crack... a sure way to start a flame war.

I don't see where the photos could be merged.
It's all the same area.

Here's the same route from a different angle.
I'm going w/ bad bolt placement.

i think its the reflection. Look at the right side of the bank, a bit below the center of the picture. There is a sand bank there, yet there is also, mysteriously, a reflection of rock...

I don't think that's his first bolt he's next to. There's another with the draw pulled tight straight at the camera about 6 feet below his left foot. Look closely and you can see the rope take a slight bend at that spot.

Let's see:

He is using a rope... ropes are for sailors
He is hand cramming yet not carrying crack widgets
He's wearing a helmut
He should be fly fishing
He's climbing on sandstone

Other than that I see nothing wrong with the photo...
