I just had a running friend email me an article regarding "Kropping"

http://www.byjamesraia.com/index.php?showcat=2&article=83

And I remember when Erden Eruc posted that idea of remembering Goran Kropp in this way.
http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16980&postdays=0&postorder=asc&topic_view=&start=15&sid=5da42590b681af2dba887205f702aaf7

So enough with the links....

How many of us out here are Kropping it?
Not to boast but I have recently completed a goal of biking to my crag, climbing, swimming, and then biking home. Sure feels great, who cares that its healthy. Round trip a measly 60 miles or so.

And I bike to work most days. My 5 year old Jeep has less than 44,000 miles and I am trying to keep that down as much as I can because it puts me on my bike or in my running shoes.

Alright shout it out.....
How are You Kropping it?

Cheers,
bill

If anyone PM's me with directions on how to make my links neater I'll edit those. Thanks.

I am Kropping it. I ride to work as often as I can (26 mile round trip). Weather has no effect on my decision, only other obligations that may force me to drive.

When I lived closer to work (14 mile round trip), I used to alternate days of running/riding to work. As my running volume increases, I may start something like...ride to work, run home, run to work, ride home, ride to work etc...

dude. I've used my bike for transport to crags way before some swedish guy avoided public transportation enroute to Nepal. And there's millions in the world who do more than me in with regard to using human-powered transport. I resent attempts to create a jargon term for typical activity.

While I do respect your point - you have been doing this for a long time and don't need a new slang word to describe it. Maybe you need to relax a bit. Resentment seems a bit harsh.

OK - onelung - Here it is:

I have Kropped Denali from Seattle. Rode the rig up there from Seattle, on a 175 lbs rig including the climbing gear, starting on Feb 1, 2003 in front of my home. Walked into the Kahiltna Base Camp with two friends, a distance of 67 miles over the length of Kahiltna, then summitted on May 29 with two partners. We were a total of five on the mountain.

I then biked back toward the end of June from the same spot where I had transitioned from the bike to snowshoes on May 1. I was back in Seattle on August 24, having covered 5,546 miles.

I leave for Aconcagua January 2005. There will be oceanrowing involved as well.

Erden.

Yes, and I continue to Goranicize my way through life too...

Erden has been on my mind a lot lately, I hope his journey is going well and that he is having all the fun he left here looking for... I had hoped to ride part of the way outta town with him, but I had a biopsy shceduled for the same day.

Come to one of my presentations about the journey, krusty. On 29th, at TNF on 1st Ave at 07:30 pm, and on 30th at REI on Yale at 07:00pm. We can then talk about riding together somewhere not as far for the time being :)

Erden.
