So, umm...opening a whole new can of worms here, but is there anyone around Philly that wants to Carpool? Doesn't make sense to waste gas if there's someone else around me that I can pick up on my way up there.

btw...add 4 more to saturday night dinner...(3) peeps from maine wrote me, said they were coming down - unless anyone else was at the t-wall gathering...i doubt you've ever met these folks

I'm not going to make it this weekend. It looks like you're in for a great weekend, but I'm just to exhausted from work to do a weekend right now.
I guess the only think worse than a weekend warrior is a lame weekend warrior.

randy...so far...here are my plans...
1269topper and i will be arriving to meet gail and mitch and the collins'?? for a late dinner on friday night 8ish at the hostel and go out from there..
then more than likely fred and i will be heading to slime with griffith
that evening we expect 3 peeps from maine to also join us there
isn't glen coming??
anyhow i am in a S-10 grey extended pickup with a red/white cap on top (with most notable - bobby labonte sticker on it) and PA license plate

let me ask this: if we get there and find the hostel by 8, is there room for 3 more? I really don't want to just invite myself (and the other 2).... if not. no biggie.

I'm trying to do some. I'm planning to leave W.C. by 2:30. Up to Allentown by 4. And then up 78 to 278 to I-87. We should be there by 8.

Question: Given its a Friday night... where can I expect traffic to be bad (I know PA roads) but are 278 and I-87 gonna be bad?
#2: From Allentown...is it better to take 78 or head North to get on I-80 or even I-84?

We will be there on Friday evening but we probably arrive later than 8pm (closer to 10pm is typical for us). So don't wait for us for dinner although you may let us know where you are.

Randy the driving that Anne suggested is good, but if you can get to I-84 without too much hassel it is a beautiful drive and usually not much traffic at all. 84 will dump you onto the Thruway 1 exit south of New Paltz.

yeah...i work at a camp in the poconos that is 10 minutes from i-84...I never realized how quickly we could get to the Gunks from there (70 miles on i-84 and another 15 north) if I would have realized that before, this would not be my first time to the Gunks!!
oh and Gail...the first post has multiple meeting times for Saturday. I believe its 8 AM. Better delete the mention of 8:30.
