I saw pics of these massive hooks on Valerio Folco's web site. I think they are made by vermin? Anyone use them? They are way big!

I've used Forrest's hooks for years. The biggest one I've got is a bit larger than a Fish Captain, but not as huge as from that photo. Forrest makes really good stuff, some of which is available at the Yosemite mountain shop.

Forrest is the author of some of the South's meanest aid lines, at least for the time at which they were established. Many have been downgraded from A5 to A3+ but they were the shiite back in the early '80s. His old routes will still give you plenty to think about on lead, and his modern routes have raised the bar even higher.

You can order gear directly from Forrest. If you're interested I will mail you his phone number.

I've got one of the large vermin hooks, and they are brilliant! The best bit about them is that they flex when weighted so it gives that extra bit of thrill... ha ha! They're lighter than other hooks i've used and got a number of points at which you can attach your slings/tape.

The Verm is enourmous, but worth it. It's like having an extra hand, and is great when avoiding exiting the aiders is a priority. It's a little shorter than the Pika Ibis, but with a really broad horizontal hook edge.
