Hey, I'm looking for climbing partners in the Austin Texas Area, I'll probably be passing through on my Road Trip in mid February. Be there for about a week while I'm on my way to Hueco. If you're out there and willing to show a guy a good time(boy that sounds dirty), drop a post.

There are a few of us who climb pretty regularly in Austin. PM me closer to and we'll make a plan. Are you interested in staying in Austin and hitting places like the Greenbelt and Reimer's Ranch or heading out to Fredericksburg for E-Rock?

You might also want to check out www.texasclimbers.com.

Never been out there so I'm not familiar with those places. I'm mostly going to be bouldering, Thinking of McKinley and Rogers, any other bouldering destinations you could recommend.
Peace

I haven't been to McKinley, but Roger's Park is pretty good. There's also some bouldering at the Greenbelt but I've not tried it out yet. When we boulder, we mainly go to Bull Creek Park, but the limestone is really polished, so it's not my favorite. Let me check out a few more places, and I'll let you know.

McKinney and Rogers are definitely the best spots to hit if you are just passing through. they'll give you a taste of what Texas Limestone is all about.

ditto on Rogers and McKinley, but Erock is hard to overlook. The only difference is that you need to be with people who know the place. Visit Sean's www.erockonline.com which may have some people hook-up forums these days (site is relatively new - and Sean boulders at McKinney fairly often). Also, I live on the Greenbelt. You're welcome to drop a line if you're thinking of climbing there (not as much low-level bouldering as McKinney or Rogers, but definitely good limestone sport routes with good bouldery moves and cruxes along the way.

check out http://www.bloodyflapper.com for central texas bouldering beta. the forums are a little low on traffic, so you might have better luck finding someone to climb with on b.com
