This may be impossible to answer with any accuracy whatsoever...but, if I post a picture, how long might I expect to wait for it to be on the site?

whenever we get around to it really it's one of the few things on this site that isn't automated, the pictures need to be approved by an actual person before they are added to the site

I figured (feared) the answer would be along those lines. It's not so bad seeing as there's so much else to take care of on the site. Just two more questions though. How many people are putting the pictures up on the site? How high is this on the priority list? My brother (fiend) wouldn't mind helping out with this, he just needs a little info. If you need some help just contact him and ask him what he needs to know and he'll gladly do it. I think he posted an inquiry on this, but these things tend to get burried. Anything you can do is much appreciated, thanx. [ This Message was edited by: kriso9tails on 2001-07-30 22:20 ]

Here is what I propose: We make a page explaining photo submission criteria. This would explain what format to save the file, what size is acceptable, and general tips in good photos. This way you know what we are looking for. Next we enable you to upload the file directly to the server. The photo stays is Pending status until an administrator like fiend or blackhaven approve the photo. If the photo is not acceptable, then we reject it and tell you why. We will make it a policy to NOT edit photos at all. This way we push the burden of submitting correctly edited photos on the submitter. I think we could turn a process that takes weeks into something that takes seconds. You would see a response usually withing hours or minutes instead of months. Trevor

Sounds like a great idea, as the site gets more popular we're getting more and more photos, this will definitely speed things up a lot!
