Park Superintendent Curt Sauer will hold a series of open house meetings in December to meet community members and to discuss issues facing Joshua Tree National Park. The meetings are designed to provide an opportunity for people with an interest in Joshua Tree’s management to meet the new park superintendent and talk about the park’s future.
The meetings are planned for the following dates, times, and locations:
• Friday; December 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Twentynine Palms City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road, Twentynine Palms, California.
• Friday, December 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Joshua Tree Chamber of Commerce Office, 61325 Twentynine Palms Highway, Suite F, Joshua Tree, California.
• Saturday, December 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cholla Room, Yucca Valley Community Center, 57090 Twentynine Palms Highway (off Dumosa), Yucca Valley, California.
Superintendent Sauer plans to make some brief remarks at each meeting about issues facing the park and then open up the meeting for questions and feedback from attendees. Superintendent Sauer notes, “The park shares a common boundary with its local communities, and I’m looking forward to meeting area residents to get acquainted and hear their ideas for how Joshua Tree and the communities can work together.”
