Buildering is a pretty big genre. I've done some 20 to 30 foot buildering on the outside wall of a church 3 blocks from my house ( check with property owners or you will end up with hand cuffs on) and numerous ten to 15 foot brick structures messing around with gym shoes on. In most cases buildering is pretty dangerous (physically and lawfully). I don't reccommend it and would certanly never advice so and so to climb this because I did and it was fun. It's for some people and not for others, generally I shy away from it but I live in Chicago and training is training. I am fortunate that the local church down the street from me has a great stone wall and allows me to practice there. I have been arrested once while on it because there was no one in the church, later was released and no charges because they allows me to do so. but if your climbing something that isin't your property and visible from the road expect to get into trouble. That aside it's extremely dangerous because you are soloing, most of the times no crash pad and if your crazy enough ( imoho ) decking from 40 to 50 feet, your in the death zone. Do it if you will but I don't think many climbers will ever reccommend it P.K.

Buildering is alright. Most of the time it's fairly repetitive stuff, but sometimes you find a real gem like the Doe Library Traverse at UC Berkeley. God, I love that problem.

It's great fun, and only just as dangerous as normal rock climbing, like if you climb too high and fall you could get hurt. I've got a few pics of me climbing my house and my school on the site here.
