My super tight, late 90's Verve shorts. Now that's CHEESE. And no, I'm not making a reference to personal hygene, merely a reference to outdated fashion sense.

My little carpenters hammer. Everyone laughs at it, until they see me take out booty with ease  . I would just use the old "Yo" hammer, but that's not contraversal enough for me.

My monster Nut tool/Hammer. It’s made from a shelving bracket with a hammer head welded to the end. It weighs a tone and rings like a bell every time it swings from my harness and hits the rock. “Bing, Bing, Bing,” . “Oh, here comes Aaron, cleaning another nut placement”.

You guys must not be as into the duct tape as you proclaim if you didn't realize that there's a Duck Tape brand. Personally, I think it's better than the generic stuff. It comes in cool colors like red, white and blue, as well as the classic grey. The best roll I've ever found is the extra wide roll I'm holding in my hand right now. 3 inches wide instead of the regular 2! Duck brand tape is made by Manco, Inc, a Henkel group company. 32150 Just Imagine Drive, Avon, OH 44011. I bet all you people typing duct or D U C T ain't feeling so smart now, eh? Eh? I thought so. :P

My Pica nut tool/hammer...not nearly as cool as the homemade ones, but at two cams, three nuts and counting, how could I complain? Also, my friend makes socks for cold climbing days where your ankles are toasty, but you don't have material on your foot, so it is like climbing without socks with socks. Cheesy but effective. -Kate.

That would be one of my #0 tcu's. First one of the outside lobes got a large burr on it so it would not close. I filed it down and it closed most of the way. A few months later a trigger wire broke. Since they don't have kits for these I bent the old wire at 90 degrees and pressed it back into its proper lobe hole. Then I had to bend the other two trigger wires to compensate for the fact that they were now longer. It has worked for two years now (aid only) but I'm not sure how many lives are left in it. Cheers! Dr. Mangala

A 6" piece of heavy guage electrical wire. maybe .01$ invaluable booty retrieving tool. twist it around the end of your rope or cord and you got a booty fish hook.

I don't have anything that I currently use that seems cheesy. I used to have an electric blue/pink harness that my friend bar tacked himself. Tackie harness, but free. At the time, free was critical, tackie was not. It was too small so I used a carabiner to hook it together in front. That same friend used to make wired nuts that he cast himself from aluminum and slung with cable from the hardware store. Two cable clamps and off you go. Fortunately, we never fell on them. Probably a .0005Kn rating. The harness held up, but I fortunately grew out of it.

Duck Tape Facts The original tape was called Duck Tape, because it was made of "duck", ie. heavy fabric. Duck, see: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=duck People used it for ducts, and that name became a more popular usage. see: http://www.octanecreative.com/ducttape/dthistory.html As far as cheesiest... definately my shoes... in summer.
