Do u put stickers or decals on your helmet ?? If so, what kind of stickers do you have on your helmet now ? I heard somewhere that the chemicals on the stickers will do HARM to the helmet ?? Any truth or experience that confirm this ?

A shit load of $.05 green stickers from Yosemite Valley. My dream is to cover the whole thing. An no donations from do-gooders, each green sticker must be earned!! -n

I let my 3.5 yr old daughter decorate my helmet with red rubber stamps of kittens and ladybugs. I then labled the front with "DORK" just in case anyone was misinformed.

I have about 4-5 stickers on my helmet, but my favorite one is my most obscure one; Women In Mining. It's some nationally recognized organization. How/when I got it, I have no idea.

In reply to: I heard somewhere that the chemicals on the stickers will do HARM to the helmet ?? Any truth or experience that confirm this ? Yes... you should stop wearing your helmet and just apply stickers directly to your head... that should fix the problem

climbing helmet has nothing except one "nut" cut off of a mtn hdwr sticker. my work hard hat has BD, Petzl, Trango, Yates, International Merkur Owners Network, "tie or die" courtesy of OSHA, www.cdc-usa.com (my employer) my name, a spiderman sticker (a client nicknamed me and slapped it on) and about 30 of the little "nuts" cut off mtn hdwr stickers.

Did someone say "stickers?" Uh, yeah -- I'm the king. I have stickers on top of stickers on my lid. Some from 4 or 5 years ago that have faded and are only held on by the new stckers that overlap them. A lot of Petzl, a few from Misty, Mountain Hardwear, some from BD, Omega, Pusher, Edelweiss, Beal, Blue Water, Trango, and several others. It ain't pretty. But then again...let's just say it's appropriate for me. Ed

In reply to: International Merkur Owners Network Ladies and gents, I think we have an award for obscurity. Guess that makes sense with your nick, euroford. Also the "Women in Mining" was pretty esoteric. Nice!

No stickers on the brain bucket, but plenty of home-grown marker graffiti. Starting in front, a big stylized letter F (for Ford!) working around the sides, we have "Caution, hot exhaust" next to the vents, drawn on horns, a lightning bolt and crossed hammer, with the word "Mjollnir" (the name of Thor's Hammer) and on the back, a viking head and the motto du jour: "Fear profits a man nothing." Also present on one side, and again on the INSIDE are "O+ no known allergies" because... hey... ya never know. ---Ford--- vengeance is Mine, sayeth the Ford

I don't have no stinking helmut. I don't need no stinking stickers. I don't want no stinking stickers. Although the 'I heart lumberjack whores' sticker does sound pretty good, but I think I would be afraid to actually get one too.

Helmet stickers are kind of, um, 90's, aren't they? Next you'll be telling me you wear lycra tights and long hair too? Nah. I'm just funnin ya (sort of)... No stickers on my helmet or my jeep. All stickers gets stuck to a couple of cabinet doors in my garage where I store my gear. That satisifies my irrational urge to plaster climbing stickers, without telling others I'm a gear geek or advertising on my vehicle, "Climber on board, thousands of dollars of gear to steal, please help yourself." My favorite cabinet sticker: FISH - Equipage for the HELL called LIFE. DMT

Not that anyone cares, but stickers are actually unsafe to put on your helemts (and hardhats). They can hide small cracks in the helmet that could potentially cause structural failure of the material. You all do what you want though.
