In reply to: A) Boyfriend/girlfriend or wife/husband B) Whoever is there C) some random weirdo from the site D) close friend E) family F ) other also, how did u meet your climbing partner? You need to include option G) all of the above..... ...and more My main partner for more serious climbs and I met over 10 years ago when we were still teenaged hardcore snowboarders. We've shared many mountain adventures together, each supporting the other in the crucial moments. We're tight, and his wife hates it.

I’m tall, so I like climbing with short people. That way, I can place pro (and bolts) out of their reach. Then they already have a good excuse to complain, which allows me to get away with all sorts of stuff that they’d otherwise notice. I also like climbing with good friends, and especially with aliens, whether they are legal, illegal, or (my favorite), green. Of course, I really like red aliens too, and so I just gave a red alien to my favorite red haired legal alien (who, in an astonishing feat of color blind confusion, has a green card that is pink).

I climb with a friend that I've know for over 20 years (wow, it hurts to say that!). It's great to climb with someone you completely trust. It's one less thing to worry about. :P Mr. Mons

Definitely 'D' because it comes down to trust. It seems like whenever I trust someone I don't really know I hear this "whoops" (add beavis and butthead laugh) somehwere along the line...no thanks....I want complete confidence in my partner when I'm out for some real fun. I've only found two people that totally fit that bill. The best thing about climbing with the same partners is knowing exactly the same system/routine and that we're both on the same page when it comes to objectives. And it's good to know that my partners climb for the same reasons I do.

In reply to: The best thing about climbing with the same partners is knowing exactly the same system/routine I'd say yes....and no. You can learn things from climbing with other people that can make your routine in your primary partnership faster and more fufilling. As long as your partner doesn't ask who taught you those new tricks.
