I'm trying to find out how much snow is on the rim of the canyon. I'm also wondering if anyone reading this has descended the cruise gulley this time of year. Any special beta on getting from the rim to the floor? I'm relatively unfamiliar with this area, so any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

As of Sunday, just a dusting on the canyon rim. Can't speak for the descent.

Not sure of the current conditions, but you are going to want to find out if the gate is open or closed on the main access to the North Rim of the park, my guess is that it is closed. They do not plow the road, so once there is snow they close the road and it becomes popular with x-country skiers and snow mobiles. This ads a significant approach element to climbing in the Black in the winter, approx a 5.5 mile ski that is rolling, so it takes some time. Once you get to the Cruise Gully, you should be fine, maybe a little snow here and there, but nothing too heinous. And once you are on the wall, assuming the sun is out, you are totally psyched. Great winter route. If you ski in, it will be a long day, good luck. If you want I am happy to email additional beta.

no added logistical concerns other than the ski.

What wall you wanting to climb?

Snow shouldn't be a problem.

Been down there lots with road closed. Best place on earth.
