I will after Jan 16th when I fly back to Clemson for a job. I also have a USC Alumni staying at my house in SoCal, who will be back in Anderson around the 12th.

I would love to, but I am a med student so my schedule is pretty tight. I'm going to try to get out as much as possible though in Jan. I see that you are in Columbia so maybe we could meet up some time. Hit me up with an email. dgregorie@hotmail.com

Well, there is little to climb in SC - its more of a drive to NC.

Falcon season is here - so most is closed, except Snake Den, Little Lost Cove, Cedar Rock and Big Green. I have never climbed at any of these places, so I don't know the first thing about going.

PM if you're interested.

BTW, (this sounds desperate) I like to second. I'll carry your gear. I just want to climb. But, in exchange, you have to teach me a new trick (about climbing ...)

There's way more than just that open within day-climbing distance of Columbia! 90% of Looking Glass is open and Rumbling Bald is wide open.

Snake den? Ick.

Coylec-Have you tried anyone in MWW (the USC Mountaineering and Whitewater Club)? BTW, what ever happened to the club? I started climbing with them in '98, and we were worried that the school would dismantle the club after USC Rec. started the climbing wall.

I work for Outdoor Recreation (we run the climbing wall). I have found numerous people in MWW to be unfriendly and downright rude because I worked for OR (I need money, sorry). I have a long history of disagreement with their advisor (who also happens to be in charge of the residential college in which I live (i'm in charge of the hall government joke). Furthermore, I have heard (heresay only) things about their trips, esp. climbing that made me uneasy. It may be isolaged incidents, but I don't know.

MWW is still going strong from what I know -- they run trips nearly every weekend, though I don't know how much climbing they are doing. from what I know, there are no plans to change the status of MWW.
