:o Oh, well I had many, but my favorite was my first multipitch at Ingalls Peak - WA. The hike in was tough, then we climbed a fairly simple 3-pitch. It got me hooked on crack climbing!!! I also saw the sites of Yosemite and staying in camp 4. What a majestic, breathtaking place to travel. I highly recommend a trip there. This year is red rock (Vegas) :P , Moab, Hawaii, and the Bugaboos. Maybe even a trip to the Canadian Rockies -- if I'm lucky. Everyone have a great, safe, rockin' year!!! Cheers! Jules

*forming several new wonderful climbing partnerships--Josh Janes, Justin Wilcox, Chris Weidner *climbing Scenic Cruise Josh in April for the second time, and rediscovering my "lead-head" (missing for almost a year) in the process *finally doing several scarier and/or harder routes in Eldorado Canyon (my local area) which I'd been staring at for a couple years (best of the bunch was Super Slab) *an amazing weekend trip with Justin to the Utah desert in September, where we climbed 2 of the best routes there (Fine Jade and Primrose Dihedrals), in perfect weather, and had them all to ourselves *consistently pushing my limits leading (mostly on gear) for the first time...ever, really! I'm psyched for 2004 (but first I've got to lose 10 pounds of holiday weight)

I would have to say my beginning to lead. The first was a nice 1 pitch 5.4 called First Crack at Pinnacle in CT. Onsight as well. Of course, coming in a close second is buying all those wonderful toys, I mean gear.

My climbing highlight of the year! was my trip to bishop and squamish and sending a couple of V4 and getting to try some nice problems both in squamish and bishop. Other than that juste trying ironman traverse was a real highlight Sending The titanic in squamish.

2003 was my first full year of climbing after a 6 year hiatus and a lingering shoulder injury. Climbing at Lumpy Ridge, Eldo, Boulder Canyon, The Monastery, Combat Rock, Vedauwoo, Indian Creek, and our local crags around Lyons and Carter Lake were all incredible experiences.

My first 5.10 on sight. My first peak in the alps: Mont Blanc My first first ascent: An on sight just at my limit on a "fall and you die route". Topping out was the greatest thing I've ever experienced.

Literally, too many to list, for real. so many great days, great climbs, I'ts hard for me to pick even, like, 5 faves... ...though I suppose I could say that '03 was for me a year filled with several bushell basketfulls of varying divorce-related woes, and climbing was (ad remains) essential to chilling my head when things (often) got bad. THAT, I supose is the biggest benefit climbing brought me last year.

ah, 2003; like any other year, one that passed by too quickly. my climbing highlights.... - got into trad and cracks -- and am addicted...i'd rather climb on gear than on bolts, these days (but it's still a toss-up between roped climbing and bouldering) - did a lot of outdoor climbing, rarely making a trip to an area more than once (lots of new areas explored). ...2004 is shaping up nicely too - first waterfall ice trip (and lead, at that!)

My first trad lead. First lead, for that matter: P1, Skyline Traverse, Seneca Rocks. Took me two hours to go 100 feet, and a good nother two to stop shaking afterward. Close second: ice climbing with darkside. He has ruined me forever. k.

Probably my two hardest sport redpoints and onsights. Increasing my redpoint grade by 1 and onsight by 2. Just basically getting out climbing more than I ever have before, hooking up with lots of new partners, getting back with some old ones. Unfortunately I now have to admit that my hardest routes were all done straight. Previously it was the assistance of a few powercones that ensured successful ascents. Looks like I have a new challenge for 2004.
