OK, i have heard some things about PBC not happening this year. It's happened before so i am a little weary. What i have heard is that PBC still has a lot of sponcer money to raise still. Also that one on the head cordinatores is in tialand or something? Also i have a friend trying to get a band, Spindle, to play, there and the guy he talked to a few months ago is not responding to his emails. Also now that Climbmax is closed, well in Tempe, they have no reall organized center? Am i just listening to the wrong people or could this be for real?

Oi vey... http://rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=586659&highlight=#586659 I'll check with Jim to see if I can find out some more information since this is the second time this has come up in two days, but this is the same type of stuff that we have to deal with every year. Things usually just seem to come together. Now, if Jim was backing out of it for some reason, then we'd need to panick. The organization of volunteers and staff haven't even really begun yet for this year, so to hear that so-and-so from last year isn't available isn't really a factor, either. There are a number of new people who step up and contribute in a major way every year, and I expect this year will be no different. Ed

Actually, the PBC is not happening - but the PBB is (name has changed to Phoenix Boulder Blast) Jim is not in Thailand right now - in fact I saw him at PRG Wednesday night. He will be traveling back there for some more X Games stuff between now and the PBB, but has many volunteers that help to put the PBB together. One of my close friends is doing marketing for the PBB and if it wasn't going to happen, I think he would have heard by now. By the way, they've reverted to the old categories (no longer have an expert category) - it will be Local and Non-Local; also, all boulder problems will be open to every competitor.
