Yeah, I'm pumpin right now about the new gym. It's going to be pretty big I hear. Oh, forgot who I was for a sec. Gyms suck and so does Nashville. Let's see how many posts this gets. I'm sure everyone has been waiting for a new gym in Nashville. WHO CARES! What kind of shoes do you wear? Huh? Huh?

Mark,
Is that the new gym being opened by Lance Brock and his partners? If so, I have heard good things. Lance is a great guy, excellent climber, and for some reason any time I am near him I can climb harder then usual; maybe it's because he's shorter like me and I can pick up good beta from watching him and he has a great attitude that pumps you up. Lance is also the past SCC (Southeastern Climber's Coalition) president.
I hope his gym does well.

P.S. AFter looking at your profile, what are you studying at Vanderbilt? I see you are involved with their outdoor program. It would be great if you guys could get a group to help out at some of the next Foster Falls trail days or maybe even a King's Bluff trail day, that's what we try to do with the Georgia Tech outdoor group (I lead trips for them too). anyway, take a look at www.seclimbers.org for more info on upcoming events.

Great suggestion on the trail day, I'll bring it up during our next meeting, and hopefully we'll see you there! Is there usually a big turnout for it?

Different trail days have different turn outs. The Sand rock one coming up will probably be big.
I don't know if many from your school climb at Sunset Rock in Chattanooga, but we are in the process of working with he rangers to schedule some more needed trail maintenance / reconstruction. This upcoming project will require help from many to get it done once the ball gets rolling. Right before Christmas we had a sit down lunch meeting with some of the Rangers, but people are letting things settle down after the holidays before getting back on it. Hopefully we can get it going in the upcoming months before Sunset season gets crowded again.

I don't live in Nashville... yet, but hopefully will in a year or so. I can't wait for Lance's new gym, probably will hit it up soon as it opens. I will definately be looking to rent something near the gym. Will move to Nashville if I can get a job in the media field. Who knows, maybe Lance will hire me part-time??? :twisted:

sorry i have been snoozing. actually, i have been working on the gyms so much i dont really get on the bbs very much.
thanks for the encouragement. we are pumped about the gyms for sure and everyone coming to check them out. i think we have a very different design than any gym around. definitely different than any gym i have ever seen. we put up new pics this week.
if you guys are ever in the neighborhood, stop by. if anyone is there, just come on in and look around.
