today i went to a shop near my home, Chamonix, long hard to pronounce name but still, i had the hardest time trying to get to it but finaly i found it.
Well i look around and they have this hand and fore arm strengthener, i buy it and its a really good work out. Its quite large so makes your hand really work to compress it.
Looks just like a thick rubber ball like in an "O" shape.
Really goood.

Ic....

i just use that X shape thing with a 'o' in the center...

i don't know what it's called but you just squeeze together. Its quite a good work out when it's still new and unseasoned... Mine's been squeezed a bunch and it's starting to get alittle soft... I can squeeze it with almost no effort at all.... Need to get a new 1.

The best forearm excersizer I ever had was one I made.
Take a 12-15" long piece of 1-2" round wood (dowling?) and drill a hole through the middle. Tie a 1m length of cord thru the hole (I used 5mm regular cord, it doesn't need to be fancy), and tie the other end thru the middle of a barbell weight of your choice (I used 10 lbs).
Roll the wood in your hands until the weight reaches the top, then unroll. See how many reps you can do.
Enjoy the pump.

Two more words...Power Clean

Pick a weight that lets you do 3 sets of 15. Your whole body will thank you, grip included.

Seems a shame to do an exercise that just works one little body part.

hey bubba, well ye that is a good one but its so tiereing and it really doesnt do much for your hands. I find it really painful after like 2 rotations (2up 2down) and if you hold your arms out straight it hurts your Tricepts so its a good setup but hurts like anyting, the Blackdimond tool is like really good you can do it whenever and its not as strenouse.

hey,
i made that thing too.. before i read this.. and i had been using it quite abit.. but the damn cord snapped from the weight.. i had my arms straight out extended so it missed my feet (phew) but it landed on my wooden floor and dented it a few cm.. and made a damn loud noise.. also i live in an apartment so i was lucky i didnt get any complaints bout the noise.. so ive stopped doing that.. for fear the cord will break again...

considering that your a climber, it would make sense that you should have some cord capable of holding more than a small barbel somewhere in your house. why heck, it might even hold body weight or even a fall!!

unless your a bolderer or something....

Surely, ripping your muscles in half would hurt like hell, and seriously inhibit your climbing? :?

We're moving towards the Training forum, aren't we?

I noticed a good idea for strengthening pinches a couple days ago on Virtual Links (click on "My Woody" and scroll all the way down to "Mr. Pinch-o-Grip"). Essentially it's a shallow box holding weights, and you grip the sides of it while doing some lat rows.
