I was just curious if anybody has had the problem of over crowding because of the routes db on rc.com. Personally I don't mind too many people at a crag. I am glad that this site can get people to see new places. I am just curious the effect that rc.com has on the world.

It's definitely had an impact at New Jack City, but a guidebook is coming out soon anyhow. No, really. -Jay

lol! I met redpointed by accident while out climbing. Beyond that, I haven't seen any effects other than that this place has helped me get partners more than anything else.

the impact could be that more foreigners are at a crag, locals mostly know about it already. at least this si the case with SLO because we have a really good climbin guide for the whole country.

Rocks are as crowded as they have always been... only that lately "La Huasteca" has been flooded by non-climbers!! But I really don't think it has anything to do with the site

I've encountered a couple rc.com get togethers at the crag. I don't think it makes it significantly more crowded though... but its a little weird when people start calling people by their screennames.

I met four or five people from rc.com wanting someone to climb with while they were on holidays `here in Spain. It was funny and we got a good time. Have fun Hugo

To be honest, the routes DB is rather useless for crag info so I don't see it bringing many extra people to any crags.

To explain my previous post further, I haven't met very many climbers who even know of this site, and this thread is slightly ridiculous for assuming that a large number of climbers visit here, use the routes database to find their climbs, and all end up going to the same place. :?

I've met many users of the site, and the site has practically put New Jack City on the map. I would estimate that at least half of all regular SoCal climbers at least occasionally use this site. -Jay
