i am renting a house right now and the backyard has no trees. so basically i am looking at trying to build two anchors for my slackline that i will be able to remove when i move out (i gotta bout one year left on the lease). i would like to make something cheap and adequate nothing special. rather not use concrete. any ideas? :idea:

3 rebar stakes bent like a J at the end. There are ways to bend it without any special tools if you're curious.

I haven't tried this, but to bend the stakes: get 2 pieces of solid metal pipe. Drive your car over one pipe and stick the rebar into that same pipe. Take another long pipe and stick it over the end of the rebar, bend that sucker until it is facing back where it came from.
Make sense?

the bending makes sense, but why bend it? Do you pound it in, leaving a loop sticking up? And is this better than the pic you showed, where it was just three stakes pounded straight?

my backyard is not that big and that would take up alotta room using the stake system. do you think i could dig a hole and stick a post down there and compact the soil around the post? anyone ever tried this?

If you had a 20' post and stuck it 15' into the gound that might work. Other than that a buried post won't be able to hold the force you and your slackline are putting on it. Even if you concrete it in it will still work loose. Go to a local park and set your line up. There will be people there to help you tighten it.

I would not recommend this.
I was recently in a vehicle that ran over a pipe of sorts stuck in the ground (hiding under the snow). Was a solid rod, about 2 inches across. Shot straight through the tire, bent the wheel. Took us a few hours to get off it. Had to cut away a huge section of the tire. Not fun.
