Go grab a beer? Go grab a pizza? Both?? :lol: Does it get any better than sitting down at the end of a killer day of climbing with great friends and drink some beer, eat pizza, and rehash the day??
My ex-brother-in-law (long and not fun story) used to always get In and Out if one of us sent our project. I don't know what was better, sending the project or the burger afterwards ;)
Today after developing some new routes under clear blue NorCal skies (FINALLY!), it was a pizza, a pitcher of Hefeweizen, and watching a soccer game in spanish. Good times :D
Whats your routine after your done climbing?

pretty much the same for me, with a different twist. i con as many of the posse as i can into heading down to our local watering hole, the monte v. then i con them into buying me as many drinks as i can. play some foosball, play some pool, go harass andy at the front desk, oogle cynthia behind the bar, talk s**t about cragging. like you say, good times. a lifetime's worth. this basic routine has been going on for three decades now, i hope i got another three to go!

when one would send in "the crew" it was ice cream time... where the other friends would work together to make the ice cream nightmare... and the sender would then sit down to send the ice cream.
john... you never did get your icecream...
in vegas it was the macaroni grill...
in and out was on the way to vegas
at crossroads cafe it was there ice cream with fudge brownie... when they made them fresh. here glen and i alway seemed to find a reason.

My friends used to make me go to In N Out after every climbing trip. Hilarity, of course, because I am not the biggest fan of burgers in general. I vowed once I stopped climbing with them to never touch another In N Out burger as a climbing reward.
Now it's all about the burritos and margaritas. But when in Bishop - Western Kitchen, Mammoth - Looney Bean mango chais (sadly they are going to close soon), and J Tree . . . Crossroads of course (can't beat the chai there).

After a day on the Flatirons or in Eldo our first stop is Superior Liquors for a six pack of Mike's Hard Cranberry and/or Modelo Especial. Second stop is Anthony's Pizza or Oblio's....ah the simple things in life....

If you're going to do fast food, you cannot go wrong with In and Out. Dave and I stopped at a place which has to remain nameless for now due to the logistics of certain areas :twisted: but I will say the burgers (while expensive) were awesome!

Seeing as how I'm not old enough to drink, and am therefore robbed of a good place to hang out after climbing. I generally go home, shower, and fall asleep. How exciting is that?!?!

A bite to eat, a chair to sit in, and a mountain to look at while doing so is my prefered after-climb activity. Always helps if there's a campfire and a few good friends to sit around with well into the night, before heading for the tent.
mmmmmm, this snow needs to leave. :D

I love the campfire stories and beers all around. I'll have a beer with any of you mates. I've also gotten my fat arse off of the ground the next day to clean up around El Cap. A good hike and a bit of wall karma as well.

How 'bout we stop talking about In and Out Burger before I go crazy... Best damn burgers on the planet and I am at least 6 months away from eating one. I haven't had a good burger since August. The beef here in Spain sucks, and their burgers tase funny as hell.

My favorite was when I was living in chicago and climbing in Red River Gorge, KY.
We would go to Miguel's Pizza for dinner and Ale8-1 (pronounced "a late one") a kentucky soft drink with much caffine.
Any number of unexpected climbing friends from the past would be there, and only climbers go to Miguel's (for the most part)
This was the best climbing ritual ever, and I really miss climbing in Red River Gorgeous!

For me, its a regional thing. You know--like they say, when you're in Rome......
So, in the southwest its beer and mexican food. In the Gunks its Bratwurst and beer at the Mountain Brauhaus.

You should come down to Costa Rica and climb with us, We have our own watering hole, which means even if you cant legally drink you can still hang out there, and anyway, the drinking age down here is 18.

hummm In&Out good but...
IT"S STILL FAST FOOD!
I wish I could take you down in Italy sometimes, and show you what you can eat (and drink) after a climbing day.
You'll never look at a fast food the same way again.
Back then it was either a huge mozzarella di Bufala, fresh tomatoes and a pint OR Mushrooms / meat tortellini, steack and red wine, depending where we'd climbed.
And Bob Marley of course, later.
Ahh Miss those days.
The beer I had at the end of the trail last time I went at Bigh Chief (Tahoe)
was pretty awesome too. Mike had the cooler waiting for us in the van!
(you're da-man Mike)
But the food around here its..humm so-so, to say the least, unless I'm cooking ;)
AH! lol Now I'm addicted to beef jerky!

You guys make me really sad. There's no In-N-Out in Alaska. I miss SoCal sometimes. But then again, there's no smog up here and it's a lot more beautiful in AK than SoCal... And there's always the Hangar and El Sombrero :wink:

You guys don't know what you are missing out on. After a day of climbing its all about the soba. Soba is a Japanees dish made out of soba noodles and broth. Kind of a soup with lots of soba noodles. You can get it with meat or all veges. Hands down the best food after a hard day on the rock.
