Thanks for the notice. I was among the crowd enjoying the Main Cliff this weekend, but now it's time to give the falcons some peace. I wish them well.

So, the main cliff is off-limits until about the end of July, right?
Although it sucks that parts of Poko, Cathedral, and other cliffs are off limits for part of the season, I figure it's a reasonable inconvenience.
And, besides, I would prefer to not be dive-bombed by an angry peregrine mother.

Well, I'm not sure it actually is in effect yet. Was just up there last weekend and it wasn't happening yet (talked to the ranger). Just make sure before you head up to main cliff that you check the bulletin board in the large parking lot - they always post a big sign there when the closure is in effect.

The peregrines are awesome birds - I'm glad that with the help of a number of agencies, they and us are able to co-exist so well. Thanks for respecting the closure.

STAY THE HELL OFF THE MAIN CLIFFF.
I WAS THERE LAST WEEKEND AND SEVERAL CLIMBERS WERE DOING THEIR THING. DESPITE A FALCON BEING PERCHED ON A TREE ABOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!
WE DO NOT WANT TO JEOPARDIZE ACCESS DUE TO SOME BASTARDS WHO CANT RESPECT NATURE!!!!
PLEASE RESPECT CLOSURES. I WILL PERSONALLY CALL RANGERS TO REMOVE PEOPLE FROM THE CLIFF!!!!!!

Quiet down campo ... there have been no posts bitching about the request. Climbers that I have met at Rumney respect closures for the same reason you do ... we love climbing. As for the climbers who ascended last weekend, the area was open and they were most likley paying attention to the climb. A bird is sitting on a tree limb does not mean they are nesting in the area. Be cool man, but do the 911 thing IF you do find a group not respecting the closures.

peace & climb-on
