A bit of an oxymoron "Good Hammock", but Mountain Tools, in Carmel still makes one, Pika has one, and Anker Gear (A5) still makes one designed to be hung under a ledge. Best deal is the Mt Tools version.

FWIW

Are you looking for a Bivvy for on Big Wall, or a regular 'campsite' hammok. I'm using a Hennesy Hammok, it weighs in at about 2.5 lbs takes up about as much space as my harness and includes a 'welded' mosquito netting and a detachable rain fly.

Off the top of my head I don't recall the web addy for the company, and I don't have my gear with me at the moment, but if you have any further questions feel free to get in touch. Hope this helps.

For backpacking and general camping I like the Crazy Creek Crib with tarp. I sleep better there than on any sleeping pad. It is much less $$ than the Hennesy Hammock.

Not sure if that is what you're looking for.

The absolute best hammock that I have ever had is one I picked up in Mexico. Now those folks know how to make an awesome hammock. The come in single, double, or quadruple size. Make the drive and pick up several. Their inexpensive too.

hangouts, a hammock store in boulder, has some awesome campsite/hiking worthy hammocks, i think they are at www.hangouts.com

they sell south american hammocks, single, double triple, and quadruple. they aren't super kmart cheap, but they last and they are damn comfortable and portable.

If you're serious about wanting a hammock, pm me. I've gat a 20+ y.o. forest that's in pristine condition, only had one night spent in it. I'd sell it cheap.

There was an old Forrest model on ebay last week. I think it went for like five bucks.

I'm keeping mine. Just in case.

Hennessey Hammocks in BC makes some of the most clever camping hammocks ever.

http://www.hennessyhammock.com/

The guy who makes them usually sells some demo models for way cheap.

I have a Pika parasite. It's about as good as I can imagine a wall hammock could be. Spreader bars would incrase the comfort, but also the bulk, and low bulk/weight is the only reason that I have for using it.
