If a photo is submitted anonymously, is it going to be removed from the database because it was not claimed? The reason I ask is that I accidentally didn't claim a couple of my photos when I submitted them and they were approved as anonymous submissions. This was a couple of weeks ago that I submitted them and they were approved. Today, when I got on, they were no longer in the Oklahoma list for photos. I'm really confused, does anyone know what that's all about?

Yes all Anonymous photos get deleted. We try to catch them all upfront at the approval stage, but some slip through. When they are found active in the database, they get deleted out.

In reply to: Thanks Roughster, I'll resubmit them under my name. No probs, I try to bump a thread every now and then to remind people of this issue. We have unfortunately had to delete out some nice pics that were submitted as anonymous. There is a bug associated with anonymous picture submissions, and thst why we deleted them out.

Overlord, I wasn't logged in at the time that I submitted the pictures. So there was no name to associate with them.

You can also PM a Photo Editor and ask them to add your name to the pic if you do this... I have done this many times when users forgot to login prior to submission. You need to send a link or at least the title of the pic though, as it's hard to find just one pic among the many submitted daily.

hmmm....yea seems like there should be some kind of error handling built into the code that would prevent this from happening - no username, no submission that would eliminate the need to scan the data base and delete them periodically jsut a thought rock on!!
