ATTENTION ALL CLIMBERS!!! The Phoenix BoulderBlast is April 23-25, 2004. If you are interested in competing, log onto www.boulderblast.com for more info. The event is awesome! If you don't want to compete, it's a great time to see some world class bouldering as a spectator. There's a huge vender area with great deals on climbing and outdoor gear. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!! Please log onto www.boulderblast.com and click on the "Contact Us" link, then scroll trough the "Subject" area to "Volunteer Info". There are plenty of opportunities to help out. Thanks. Look forward to seeing you in Queen Creek, Steve Judge

Hi All, Just a heads up.. If you are going to compete in the comp, the contest area will be closed to competitors April 2nd. We will post signs in the area. You are free to climb in the area if you are not competing. If you are competing, you are free to climb freely across the road in Eurodog Valley. Thanks Greg

just thought I'd pass this along:
In reply to: Listen Everybody - the PBB is in dire straits right now. We are far, far, under the number of Officials we need in order for the Phoenix Boulder Blast to actually happen. We are not even to the half way mark, yet. Please - if you have climbing experience and are willing to be an Official on April 24th, please reply to volunteers@boulderblast.com ASAP. If you have already signed up as a volunteer, please, please consider also being an Official on Saturday or enlisting several of your climber friends to volunteer. Please feel free to forward this message to your friends and family. Thank you for your time. Liz Serraglio Volunteers Coordinator Phoenix Boulder Blast volunteers@boulderblast.com

In case no one bothered to visit the PBC web site.. "On-Line Registration ($60) ends April 15 Midnight. If you miss this deadline, you will have no option then to on-site register for $65. The PBC On-Site Registration / Check-In will open April 23, Friday at 8:00am. It is possible to show for on-site registration and discover that all registration slots have sold."

In reply to: It is possible to show for on-site registration and discover that all registration slots have sold." He's not just whistling dixie either. I had 3 friends last year who waited until the day of to sign up and were turned away due to the high volume of competitors. I was really psyched about seeing one of them climb as I was expecting him to win for his category. If you think you're going...sign-up now. Don't make the trip out there to compete only to find out you can't.

Ya on that register early bit. I am a pretty notorious slacker. Last year I didn't pre-register but I did get in line on-site early enough to get a no-show spot. I swore I would pre-register really early this year. Of course I didn't  but last night I did swoop through the site and register on-line, but by the hairs on my chinny chin-chin, as on-line registration closes tomorrow night. So if you've got the cash, sign up. It's an awesome event. And if you've got a LOT of cash... become a sponsor ;) The PBC is poor :(
