In reply to: im so freekin bored i want to climb. im stuck in my 3rd period class id leave but my p.o.s car is broken to the point of no return. - brundige- Hey there, Brundige, Stay in class. Looks like you could use a few more grammar classes. Kidding! I have been thinking lately about why climbing is so amazing to me, why I like it better than any other exercise or passtime. I don't really have an answer, but maybe it has to do with two things: * It's the ultimate physical challenge. The only force (of the four) by which we are constantly constrained is gravity, the one that keeps us DOWN, literally. Going up a wall is the ultimate defiance of that force. * Because everything we're compelled to do as adults is physically passive. We're supposed to get slowly soft and weak, because that's how grownups pay bills. We sacrifice all daylight hours to our employers, then spend weekends preparing for the next week of sacrifices. Please don't use this in some term paper, eh? Not that these ideas would work for a student... ter_bee

for me climbing is my escape when im climbing i dont have to worry about anything but climbing plus the life style is awesome . where else can you go into the wilderness for days at a time .do everything for self and live outthe back of a car climing is always an adventure i think you can never grasp your own power unless your really relying on yourself grammar was never my strong point

Bud, say thanks to ma and pa for sponsoring your ass through school, drop out, go climb, shut up, OR go back to class and pretend you want to be there and that you actually have a purpose.

I DO have a car that runs...and I still can't get out of school to go climb. Spend you $900 on gear and enjoy life!

Aren't you about to have 2 1/2 months off from school. Then you can climb everyday. Suck it up.

*laugh* I think the same thing everyday at work I always want to run away on lunch and climb truthfully though.. the best ways to get climbing and sustain it is to take care of all of life's responsibilities first (may that be work or school..family..health..etc) I mean.. I can tell you any day of the week.. I'd rather be climbing but really.. it's not possible ALL THE TIME I climb about 4 or 5 days a week usually 3 at worst but I dream about it every second heh
