Just aquired some old Wild Country ridged stem cams. Was wondering what cordellete you would recommend to re-sling these guys. Thanks for your suggestions.

My suggestion. Get them "professionally" re-slung in the original colors. Yates??

I re-slung my old #4 Friend using Gemini cord tied with a triple fisherman's knot. I also like using this for my hexes as it is a fairly stiff cord and seems to make handling them a little easier.

A cordalette is a loop of cordage, typically 7mm, used to equalize anchors. You need to get your cams reslung. I know that both Yates and Fish Products do reslinging. Fish Products, for example, can resling with the webbing of your choice for $2.50 and for $3.50, they'll supply the webbing. I have never had anything done through them, but I have ordered from them and found them helpful, quick and communicative. Go to their product list and click on Repairs & etc. coylec

Rigid friends arn't slung, there is a small hole you loop with tech cord to tie the rigid stem off short. I'd just the strongest tech cord you can get to fit through the hole. I have to do the same to some of my cams soon, deffinitly before the Gunks trip. Jim

Ok, i've never actually held a rigid friend, but couldn't you resling them with a short piece of webbing tied with a water knot?

Yup, get 'em professionally reslung if you can. It's cheap and fairly worry-free! As far as the hole nearing the middle of the shaft, it is probably already drilled for 5.5mil Spectra. Tie the Spectra using a triple fisherman's knot. You can tie your end slings yourself, but why bother when you have to constantly check to see if the water knot is coming undone. Save this idea for when your on a roadtrip and you've mistakenly cut through your factory-sewn sling. It's cheap, worry-free, and a pretty quick turn-around time to boot. You can also request color, length and type of sling (spectra or nylon). They'll also sew it 'dog-bone style' fer ya! I recommend Yates as they're the only ones that I have dealt with on this thus far and they we're most impressed with their service. Although, I'm pretty sure others will say similar stuff about Fish. -Jason :D

Thank you for your suggestions. I think I'm going to send them to Yates to get them re-slung.
