Saw this in a Mtn Gear catalog the other day. It was in the section with all the adjustable daisy chains and looked similar from the photo, the description was sort of vague...but it sounded like an adjustable daisy chain. Anyway, wondering if this is something new out from Petzl and if anyone has seen/used one yet?

I just got one to compliment my lonely Metolius easy daist (they only had one easy daisy in the shop on my trip home to Oregon...in Portugal right now). I have played with it on a bolt ladder and will do some more testing in the coming weeks. Initial vibe: The webbing feels very tough and rough (not soft and pansy like the metolius) but flows nicely through the buckles as long as you get the buckle angle right (takes a little bit of practice after having your hand used to the metolius design. The cinching up is a tad less smooth than metolius. Initial cons: I cant tell if they sell them in different colors. Got mine from Barrabes.com and they seemed to have only one color (yellowish gray which is cool since my easy daisy is blue). Will post more as I get some mileage on it this weekend. Cheers Peroxide

Ah, the Petzl Quickfix adjustable daisy. I have been using a pair of these for whatever little aid climbing I do around here. Very nice. I got mine last fall so they have been around for awhile. I've only seen them in the one color scheme with one side of the webbing yellow and the flip side grey. The way the webbing is made is quite ingenious. The yellow side looks like mil spec webbing with crosswise ridges and the grey side looks like climber spec with lengthwise stitching. The effect is that the grey side is slider smooth while the yellow side provides more grab. I guess the idea was to make them easier to snug up on the buckle which by the way looks just like the buckles on Petzl's harnesses.
