I was told that Metolius cams are not rated. Is this true? If so, why are all the other cam manufacturers rated but not theirs? Thanks, Matt

They're rated, but not CE or UIAA certified. They issued a statement about it, how they don't get them certified so they can cut costs. There was a thread about this a little while ago. Do a seach or look around on the Metolius page for some more info. If you ask me they're the best built cam out there. In terms of safety that is. Cheers, Jim

Thanks Jim. If they do NOT certify them to cut costs , then why are their cams $53? It looks like most other cams are actually a little less money but also certified.... ---Matthew

I'm under the impression that these cams are most important in the european market, where metolius sells very few of their cams. I think I remember that a few of their models, which are deemed to have the most demand in europe (the power cams, I believe?), ARE certified. -Ben
