bison. block chalk. it's the best. metolius super chalk is a gimmick. $1.50 per block for bison. $3-4 a ball for super chalk. you decide.

I second the Super Chalk. You can even get a prefilled sock if youre not into the loose chalk thing. Confidence in a bag- gotta love it!

I'm gonna have to disagree with the previous statements, its defiantly either www.revolutionclimbing.com (formerly of Pusher), and www.FranklinClimbing.com are your best bets. Pusher has the best or so I am told. Franklin is pretty chunky but you can always crush it up. Defiantly by small quanities at first to figure out the ones you like then buy in bulk. ______________________________________________ :deadhorse: = :wtf:

It's all about personal preference- and my personal preference is Bison- already crushed. It is the finest powder you could ask for- which leads to another personal preference- chunky versus fine powder. Buy small amounts of each and test away....

Cheapest and best are rarely items that are aligned. That being said, I don't think I ever noticed a real difference in chalk or price. Any one will work. I don't think you will bump a grade using certain kind of chalk.

I used to use any block chalk, the cheaper the better... but a local guy here in Phoenix is making X-chalk which has cloves and other botanicals. Cloves are a cooling agent which is important in such a hot climate, and he has other healing elements - I'm not sure of all the details. I like the scent :) If you're curious, check out his website http://www.zen-lizard.com. Oh, and you can buy it at our website http://www.overthecrux.com  Shameless self-promoting  ~Shelley

Block chalk. Crush it up, re- fill up an empty sock, keep it loose, store the rest in a ziplock bag. It's by far the best value. Costs 1/2 as much as a small bag of Metolius super chalk and can fill more than the same small bag. It's softer, smells better, and keeps your hands dry longer.
