Hello my name is keith walker i'm 24. I don't have much experience with anything except an indoor gym in Miami, but I have alot of time and would like to climb as much as possible this summer. I know there is a rock wall at UNCW but I am not a student. I have top roped and finshed routs up to 5.10 with no takes. I would like to climb/top rope out doors I don't know how to lead or lead belay, or even spell the word. :? If you need someone to climb with and don't mind teaching some things I am willing to drive around, and have a very flexable schedual.

if you are wanting to climb on real rock and not that plastic stuff they put in gyms, then check out the routes data base on this site. you are going to have to drive some. NC in general has some nice stuff! (and i have only climbed a small portion of it)

in general what are your climbing abilities? i live near raleigh NC and i will be going to rocktown georgia in the next month or so, that place is the shiznit, worth the drive. if you want to climb a lot in NC you need to just hit the road. drive to boone for a weekend or more. there will be lots of people all around. you wont be alone. climbers are a nice bunch, in most cases. you are bound to run into some people that will be more than happy to boulder around with you. if you want sport, there are a few places, but NC is now known for its bouldering and trad. there is good sport but it is few and far between. unless someone can inlighten me to some good sport climbing.

How were the boulders this past Saturday Chris? I met up with Loren after you left and hit up a few more routes in the rain at ship, as soon as you left it started pouring. Not sure where I will be this saturday....hmmm
