So I'm moving into aid climbing and I was wondering, what's up with pitons? I'm planning on getting a few but I don't really know anything about them. Any suggestions? I was looking at the BD lost arrows. And do I need a hammer with them?

I think these mention that the best pins are the ones that you don't need a hammer for.
