well, they do share distributers in the us, and i believe everything comes out of the wild country factory. they must also share some design ideas as my set of DMM 4cu's (awsome cams btw) sizes corispond exacly to wild country friend sizes. they differ only in cam width; the angle, sizes and profile are identicle.

yes yes.. that's exactly what i've heard.. that is the cam lobes are very similar in geometry. the distributor situation in the States would explain why i got a WC box. what else is there to this?

Other way 'round - DMM acquired Wild Country in 1996.

This is probably why Wild Country has started coming out with those high speed, heat forged radically shaped carabiners like the Helium and oxygen. And also the skinny dyneema slings that they now share.

DMM=D-enny M-oorhouse M-ountaineering Denny now owns International Safety Components, ISC. Just a bit north of the DMM factory in Wales. A bit of climbing trivia. Denny invented the first figure eight back in the early sixties. When I visited with him in April '03 he told about buying and moving his first milling machine. His stories about learning metallurgy are precious. Denny is called The Wizard of Iron. See the website: http://iscwales.com/ Is there a way to post pictures on this site? Tom

hey, now that explain why i like both ISC's stuff and DMM's stuff so much 8^) Those ISC gecko autolockers are awsome. i use two of them for my aid setup and another 22 of them in my industrial roped access kit. i didn't know that they made HMS type keynose autolockers as well. i guess i'll have to buy two of them for my trad/belay setups. unfortunatly the gecko's don't work very well with my belay device of choice (b52). i would say mr. moorehouse definitly has one of the most inovative minds around when it comes to gear. not all of it is brilliant (the stupid roler biner), but much of it is outstanding (dmm cams, several models of biners). i would be willing to bet that some of the very inovative new wild country biners would also be his reponsability.
