2 Draws Enough???

Three days ago it was my birthday and I got 2 quickdraws from my sister. Now you can imagine that even though that might not be quite enough new shiny gear makes me happy. And since we're all poor bums and she knows nothing about climbing the gift was much appreciated. So now since I can't NOT climb and I know no one with draws I'm going to have to do some serious running out. hahaha. Please send me more draws to contribute to my fantastic rack. :D

I really don't know why I posted this. :?

No problem, overkill! More than two draws are just that, an overkill!

What you do is, climb, and clip two bolts. Downclimb to the first of the two bolts/draws, and free the draw. Bring it with you and climb on to clip the third bolt. Repeat until top.

And, voila! there you have it...

that would be a good way 2 train, find a easy sport route, and use only 2 draws. all that down climbing and up climbing must be good for ya.

that would be a DUMB way to climb. No redundancy at all while you have the first draw removed on your way back up.

Make sure to have at least have one of those draws with a longer runner, in case you encounter any roofs on those 2 bolt climbs you're eye'n.

hahaha. thanks for that advice guys. Ricardol I like that down climbing clipping thing but since i'm a lazy bum I think I'll go with climbing 30 feet, clipping, climbing another 30 feet, clipping, and then just taking a small (maybe large) whipper to end it all in style and come back down. Remember kids, "style is the key to success". Or maybe I'll just climb and every time I reach a bolt I'll untie, thread the rope through the bolt, re-tie and continue on my climb. That way I'll have the two draws to make a nice purrrty anchor. :D

Sell your street shoes and buy more draws. People in third world countries don't have shoes. It's doable.

Off to Hintisberg to do "Zick-Zack" with you, then. Two more draws and you could look at the Eiger, next. And I do know why you posted this. Ha ha ha!

You are definately showing your experience as a climber when you ask climbers to send you gear. It doesn't take much experience to realize that climbers are the cheapest demographic out there, except for whitewater paddlers. You might get some draws sent to you but you might as well just make your own, with your mom's sewing machine, out of hemp, they would probably be safer.
