#s 1 & 3 don't do much for me, but #2 is really nice. I like the geometrical composition; the tree on the right side, the line, the position of the climber. Excellent work.

#1 and #2 are completely awesome, the lines really work for those pics. Number three is junk, to put it bluntly. ;) There's no focus, so it's just a washed out blurry mistake.

Blunt is what I'm looking for . I didn't like it either, but my mom saw me posting those pics and told me to put it on. I think a "washed out blurry mistake" describes it perfectly. Also, do you like the border on #2? I think it looks pretty decent myself.

Yes, definitely. I'm a fan of black borders. The only thing about #2 that's weird to me now that I'm looking at it again is the slight fuzz in the upper right corner. Still a very cool pic though!

the border on 2 works. but as coldclimb pointed you need a higher dof. the blurriness kills the pic. maybe if you crop the upper blurry part it might work. the first one is good, yet it will also benefit from cropping a bit from the upper frame. I like the horizontal trunk yet there is too much space above it for my taste.

#2 does it for me. Nice colors (shirt matching rock), nice lines. Possible top photo. Just hope that the slight blur is a result of a bad scan :?

# 1 - My eye keeps getting drawn away from the "action" by the bright spots on the foliage that start above the boulder, and continue right up to the top of the frame. I like the interaction of the lines between climber and tree, but the lighting just doesn't work for me. Also, I feel like a heel-hook should be part of an exciting sequence, but the look on the face of the boulderer is pretty blank. And there's no feeling of movement. These two things sort of throw me off. # 2 - You really like those heel-hooks! :) Here the lines are simple, which is nice. But to my eye this photo, too, lacks zing. And the problem with the focus kind of kills this shot for me. I get immediately drawn in by the pure lines of this photo, but then as I look deeper into the photo, I just get disorienting blur. GO

#1 is busy. Nothing specific to hold the eye. #2 makes me want to go to that rock and climb it. Aside from the blurring, it is nice and clean with a sense of drama. But I think a better way to frame it would be to close in on the climber some, eliminate the tree, get the climber away from the edge of the frame a bit more. UB

Hmm, I think the tree is adding to the picture. But maybe the green should be more "fresh".

Sorry, I lost patience waiting for 753KB of images to download on my 28k connection. Could you possibly make the file-sizes smaller? Otherwise, I'll have a look when I am on a broadband connection...
