Hey all. Unfortunatly (well, maybe fortunatly at the same time......) I will be leaving the amazing state of California after living here for two years. Friends and family are drawing my back to my home of 18 years...... NJ, the place I said I would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS live again.......Anyways, when I left I wasnt a climber. I'm just trying to see how many Jersey climbers there are here on RC.com, and hopefully make some tentative plans to meet up and climb with some people back there when I return. It'll be nice climbing with the type of people I grew up with and am one of (Californians are CRAZY heheh)...... Hit me up at MDS1084@hotmail.com, post back, or PM me......

Who knows why anyone would ever come back here... I'm trying my hardest to leave this state. Well welcome back anyhow... I live in Ewing (near Trenton, NJ)
I climb mostly in the Gunks and at Rockville in Hamilton.

Jefferson NJ here. Good news on your return: turns out the waiver system just went into effect for NJ State Parks. This means you won't have to pay $50 a year plus insurance to climb at Allamuchy any more :)

Two climbers here from Washington Twp (just outside Hackettstown) - me (26) and my husband (29)! We live ten minutes from the cliffs at Allamuchy, 30 minutes from the Delaware Water Gap and it's about 2 hours to the Gunks. Good climbing all around. I climb (TR) around a 5.6/7, my husband at a 5.9 /10.... so far. Still haven't been to the NJ Rock Gym, but hear it's nice. I went to the gym in Randolph off of Rt 10 once, it was decent. 8^)

I'm from New Providence, just five miles from you. PM me if you're up for some climbing. I'm more into alpine stuff but always look forward to slapping some rock.

Is that finally happening? I've been hearing the rumors for awhile and I called the parks dept. and they said you will still need a season pass, but the insurance is no longer required. They were supposed to mail me something but I never received it. I am afraid to show up and climb because I have also heard (unconfirmed) rumors the rangers can confiscate gear. I went to Allamuchy once years ago and it was OK, not the Gunks, but only 20 min. away for me. The only other nearby (for north NJ) outdoor TRing I have found is in Montclair, but there are no leading opportunities at that cliff.
