I defer to my chauffer, ArtM, as to what we do - though as always, I'll avoid bouldering if i can help it. :)
ART WANTS TO CLIMB WITH MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (doesn't he? )

Consider it, Art: Sat at the Pit, Sun at the Forks ;)

These are the areas I'll be hitting up:

Most likely bouldering at the Draw on Saturday and the Pit on Sunday, although I could be convinced to flip the days (ahem..HILLARY.../ahem).

As me be waaay outta shape, the two days would most likely render me fingertipless. Is anyone up for doing Mt.Humphreys on Sunday?

I am going to Paradise Forks with IAMNOTAFRAID on either Sat or Sun. Not sure yet. Other than that probably...the pit.

Myself, Ivan, Art and Maculated will probably be getting out there Friday early afternoon (hopefully).

Although that may not be early enough for ya

OK, so who is doing what--and when? Team Geritol (BobD, BVB and myself) are going bouldering Saturday. This is most likely going to involve the old "Bob Murray" bouldering areas around the base of Mt. Elden. If anybody else is interested in coming along, just let us know and we'll be happy to show you around. Oh and Verm is in Phoenix and coming over to my house for dinner tonight, so he will probably be around for the Flag shindig too.

My god Curt, what have you done to these folks? Nobody wants to hang with you except BVB and me. What's up with that?

I like hanging with Curt, but there's no way my fat ass is going bouldering.
I don't even know who Bob Murray is and I'm scared.

Looks like I'll have the ol ball-and-chain and the rug rat with me this weekend, so my actual climbing may be limited. But -- the Hillary plan sounds good to me. The Pit on Saturday -- Forks on Sunday. I'm trying to decide where would be the best place to set up camp in this scenario since I don't want to have to set up/tear down camp twice. Do we have a consensus on where the best camping fun is going to be on Saturday night? In other words, where are Maculated, Art, Curt, Hillary, Alex, JT512, Erica, Ivan, Ford, BvB, Bob, Beercan, Reno, G, Amber (I've gotta finally meet Amber!), and scads of others camping on Saturday night?

I don't have a snowball's chance in Mesa of keeping up with the big dogs... that's why I just spew forth such posts here.

Reno- it's going to be good to see you and talk politics. I figure by the time the weekend is over, you, Curt and Ed will be voting for Kerry.

I have a bullet specifically reserved for just such a scenario. I'm not telling if you get or I get until the moment comes, though.

I'm not driving all the way to AZ to climb sport routes (I'm too weak to climb sport routes).
Trad or Bouldering.
I promised Curt he could sandbag me for at least one day......maybe half a day if his "amusing problems" kick my derriere the way I think they will.

No you're not, and the Pit is good. How often do you get a chance to climb limestone?

In reply to:
Trad or Bouldering.

But you'd drive all the way to AZ to boulder?????

Let him sandbag you for...an hour...and then meet us at the Pit.

You live in AZ and you don't know who BM is?

That's like living in Rome and not knowing who the Pope is.

Ed/Reno/Curt-have your fleeing moments of glory during the R-convention this week.

The Scrub/Bush is going down in November

Ivan and I will be camping at Fay Canyon all weekend. I can probably speak for wage22 and imnotafraid as well.

I reckon I'll camp at the Fay Canyon site with the rest of y'all. It's a shorter drive from Flagstaff, and with a car load of people who need to crawl/stagger to their tents, the short drive might be less dangerous.
Sure, the Pit on Saturday, but i gotta take it easy, wanna be strong enough to at least pretend like I'm gonna climb that ship of fools thingy on Sunday.

getting stoked,

My wife and I are planning on showing up around noon on Friday. Will anybody be around to climb then? I am not much of a leader (sport 5.7 or 5.8 if I am feeling brave) and my wife hasn't ever belayed someone on a lead climb.

So, I was kind hopin' that there would be some stud climbers around that could help a relative gumby out. I also have never been to the Pit or Paradise Forks and would need someone to kinda show me around. I
wouldn't mind doing a little trad either.

Lookin' foward seeing some of you again and to meeting the rest of you. I am mostly looking forward to not being at work for four days.

I also need to run by Shelley's climb shop to get an extra harness or two. My brother-in-law may show up. If Shelley sells ropes, I could use a second rope also. Mmmmmm gear, can you ever have enough gear?

See you all this weekend.

Gee-off

Y'alls are killin' me!

Erica, you tempt me! I've always wanted to do Humphreys, but there's soooo much rock to play on!

The cool kids are camping at Fay. Of course, I do reserve the outside possibilty of wimping out and getting one of those yummy motels by the train tracks if my blood is too thin and I can't sleep... of course, I would still party.... which includes taking a sip of Curt's scotch and then going back to the pink wine or MGD.

Jay has returned to fencesitta status pending the condition of his ride, which earned a purple heart driving to the crags on Saturday. Sniff :( But I hope he'll make it! AND climb at the Forks. He won't be disappointed :)

Nor will Art, if he goes to the Pit as well. Limestone, man. It'll make a nice backdrop for the hat.

Look out world...

Can't speak for anyone else, you'll find me sleeping in the exact spot I fall down after the "Irish Whisky and 102 Proof Scotch Saturday Night Party."

I'm heading up either Thursday night or Friday early. Want me to stake claim on the campsite to beat the masses?

And if anyone else is there on Friday and wants to flail and dangle on the rocks, shoot me a PM or e-mail.
