I want to start trading this season or first thing next spring. I am looking for tips on cam, & nut placement & protection. If you have any suggestions on books or sites to look into I would appreciate it. I’m waiting to meet someone to show me the ropes but would like to study up prior to that.

Check out the how to climb series called, Climbing anchors and More climbing anchors. These two books are great at detailing anchor matrices and fundamentals. Other than that I would take a course from a certified guide, book learning is good, but learning from someone who truly knows their stuff and is certified to teach is much better. Plus with a course you know that you aren't being taught some shortcuts. Don't get me wrong everyone uses shortcuts to cut time, but you need to know the right way and when to use them. Paul
