I haven't been to enough places to assess the top five........mainly because I keep going out to RED ROCKS. That place has gotta be in the top 5!

Yosemite, Red Rocks, Boulder, Wind Rivers, Sierras...But I could come out with 5 on the East Coast...Gunks, N Conway, Seneca, western N. Carolina, Red River Gorge...
So Many places , so little time !

Realistically, compared to the rest of the world, Bishop doesn't really stack up. Top 5 in the US:
Indian Creek
Hueco
Yosemite
I'm guessing the two other most worthy are the Gunks and The Red River Gorge.
The first three are included in lists of the best climbing in the World, not just the US. Hate to say it but places like Bishop, The Needles, Sierras, Red Rocks , VRG, etc, as great as they are, are outclassed by Hueco, Yos and the Creek.

for those who asked, whenever the 'valley' is referenced, it means Yosemite.
five best? hrm.
Yosemite (the park, including Tuolomne & backcountry)
Red Rocks
Gunks
Joshua Tree
The fifth could be any of the east coast destinations or maybe Eldo...

Indian Creek
Smith Rock
Hueco (yeah, the atmosphere sucks, but, hey, it's hueco)
Maple Canyon
Squamish (I know, not in the U.S., but I hate the Valley)
